WWE WrestleMania 40 is on the horizon, set to unfold over two nights on April 6th and April 7th at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
With a lineup of events spread throughout the weekend, including WWE World at WrestleMania, NXT Stand & Deliver, WWE Hall of Fame 2024, SmackDown, and Raw after WrestleMania 40, anticipation for the festivities is running high. Among the expected stars to grace the event, CM Punk’s presence has recently been confirmed in a surprising turn of events.
In a promotional video aired during the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk made a revelation regarding his WrestleMania 40 status. Despite not receiving an official invitation, Punk boldly declared his intention to be part of the spectacle, citing a clever play on words with the event’s location.
“WrestleMania is in Philadelphia. What are the first four letters in Philadelphia? Phil… whether or not I’m invited, it never matters to CM Punk, he’ll be there,” expressed Punk in the video.
Originally slated to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 before an unfortunate tricep injury sidelined him, Punk’s absence from the ring hasn’t dimmed his presence in the WWE universe. With Drew McIntyre stepping into his planned spot against Rollins, Punk has continued to generate buzz surrounding the championship clash.
During the WrestleMania 40 Kick-off show in Las Vegas, Punk’s commentary provided a platform for him to take playful jabs at The Rock and Roman Reigns, hinting at potential verbal sparring from the commentator’s desk. Punk’s return to the ring may be on hold, but his knack for stirring the pot remains as sharp as ever.
Fans eagerly anticipate Punk’s imminent return to Monday Night Raw, slated for the March 25th, 2024 episode in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois.
With his presence also teased for the April 1st, 2024 episode, which marks the last Raw before WrestleMania 40 and coincides with The Rock’s scheduled appearance, speculation runs rampant regarding Punk’s potential impact on the grand stage of WrestleMania.
