A TV anime adaptation of Hiroaki Nagashima’s fantasy light novel series, “Good Bye, Dragon Life,” is currently in production, set to premiere in 2024.
The anime’s official website and Twitter have been launched, revealing a teaser trailer and visual.

Shunsuke Takeuchi, known for his role as Jean Yunghart in “Metallic Rouge,” will play the role of Dolan, the main character who was reborn as a human from the strongest dragon.
In a message, Takeuchi expressed his excitement for the role and praised the portrayal of village life in the series. He also highlighted the charm of the character Selina.
Hitomi Sekine, who plays Ellis Seifort in “Berserk of Gluttony,” portrays Serina, the main heroine who is a half-human, half-snake being known as a lamia.
Sekine described Serina as kind-hearted, caring, and lovely, expressing her enthusiasm for conveying the character’s charm to the audience.
The novel was originally published on the Japanese publisher AlphaPolis’ “AiplaPolis Dennou Fuyu-toshi” online platform in April 2015. It was later released in print format across 23 volumes from December 2017 to December 2022.
Author Hiroaki Nagashima expressed gratitude for the anime adaptation, describing it as a realization of the best elements from the novel and manga versions.
He expressed hope that viewers would enjoy the voices, colors, and movements of the characters, promising new forms and experiences.
“Good Bye, Dragon Life” follows the story of Dolan, an ancient divine dragon who is granted a second life as a human named Dolan in a remote village.
Adjusting to his new life with a shorter lifespan, Dolan finds solace in the simple joys of village life. However, his life takes a turn when he encounters Serina, a lamia searching for a mate.
Despite their differences, they form a bond, facing various obstacles together.
The anime adaptation promises to bring to life the fantasy tale of a powerful dragon’s new beginnings in a remote province.
