Since Cody Rhodes challenged Roman Reigns to steal Rock’s WrestleMania place during the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff show, The Rock and Roman Reigns have been engaged in a rivalry with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
The Great One smacked Cody for trash talking his family to turn heel during the moment when Roman and Cody make it personal. Seth Rollins swore to stand by Cody and support him.
As the plots progress, Cody challenges Rock to a singles match at Elimination Chamber. In response, The High Chief offered Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as part of a different deal for Rhodes.
The Rock & Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins
The Rock addressed Cody Rhodes’ challenge and rejected it in the most recent Friday Night SmackDown broadcast (March 1, 2024). But The Rock countered by offering a tag team match. At WrestleMania Night 1, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins were challenged by The Rock, Roman Reigns, to a tag match.
The People’s champion introduced conditions to the contest, saying that should Cody & Seth prevail in the tag battle, Cody’s championship bout versus Roman Reigns on Night 2 will be free of The Bloodline, since no members of The Bloodline, including Paul Heyman, will be present at ringside.
If The People’s Champion & The Universal Champion prevailed, Night 2 would include a Bloodline Rules bout in which all of Bloodline’s members would participate and choose the rules of the event.
Next week, on March 8, 2024, on SmackDown, The Rock issued a challenge, asking Cody & Seth to reveal their choices. The Great One went on to say that if they turned down the challenge, Rock would use his full influence as a Board member to put an end to Cody Rhodes’ narrative.
