After taking a short break, new sneak peeks of chapter 252 of the popular manga series Jujutsu Kaisen emerged today. Fans were eagerly anticipating potential revelations regarding the fates of key characters Yuta and Megumi.
The teasers did not let down avid followers hungry for the next installments in the ongoing storyline.
The full English translation of the highly-awaited chapter is scheduled for release on Monday, January 19th, 2024 at midnight Japan Standard Time, as part of Weekly Shonen Jump issue number 12 published by Shueisha.
The preceding chapter depicted Yuji entering the inner world of the sinister spirit Sukuna in hopes of rescuing his comrade Megumi, who had resigned himself to defeat. Yuta protected Yuji by absorbing Sukuna’s devastating attack, which left Yuta gruesomely cut in half.
However, Maki Zen’in dramatically intervened at the critical moment to slash Sukuna with her Split Soul Katana sword.
Spoilers
The rumored title for the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 252 is “Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 24.”
Yuta survives the grave injury with Rika’s help In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 252
The chapter allegedly opens with a quick flashback to Ino, Maki, and Kusakabe observing Yuta’s Domain barrier from the outside. They anticipated it could shatter imminently and had readied Maki to intervene.
Ino wondered if more people should join inside the Domain, but Kusakabe stated it was too risky. Entering them might destabilize the Domain and alert Sukuna to their intentions. As Maki prepared to fight, Kusakabe cheered her on while declining Ino’s request for him to participate as well.
When the Domain collapsed, Kusakabe instructed Maki to await a signal from Yuta determining the optimal moment to step in.
Currently, in the leaked pages, Rika is shown clinging to a gravely wounded Yuta until Ui Ui transports him, likely to Shoko for treatment. This implies Yuta survives with the potential to be healed.
Sukuna finds out about Yuta’s plan
When Maki attempts to slash Sukuna with her katana, he narrowly dodges. Sukuna realizes Yuta intentionally destroyed his own Domain as the signal mentioned by Kusakabe.
Furthermore, Sukuna discovers the wounds inflicted by Maki’s Split Soul Katana cannot be healed as easily as his other injuries.
The Chapter 252 leaks indicate that any gash from the mystical blade resists healing via the standard Reversed Cursed Technique (RCT). One must directly mend the soul, requiring a clear perception of one’s own soul outline to differentiate it.
Due to his extensive history of possession, Sukuna has honed the ability to vividly map his soul and separate it from a vessel. However, battle damage from Gojo hinders Sukuna from healing himself presently, as soul healing demands more Cursed Energy than common RCT.
Meanwhile, Yuji Itadori struggles to rejoin the fight to save Megumi but collapses coughing up blood from the strain.
Yuji uses the Blood Manipulation Technique
Although Yuji has been regularly using RCT, he has not properly healed himself given his inexperience having learned it only a month ago. However, Choso calmly instructs Yuji to circulate blood throughout his entire body to each vessel.
Meanwhile, Sukuna attempts to seize Maki’s katana but she deflects him. He demolishes a structure and hurls it at Maki, capitalizing on the obscured visibility to slash at her, which she dodges.
Sukuna realizes Maki perceives his Techniques better than most sorcerers. He compares facing her to battling Mahoraga in Shibuya.
Despite Maki stabbing his heart, Sukuna is forcefully circulating his blood with Cursed Energy, as he did with Yuji’s body previously. Maki questions if he can maintain this while fighting her. Sukuna asserts he has no issues presently.
The leaks then switch to Hakari versus Uraume. Hakari states Sukuna’s original form is not as intimidating as anticipated.
Uraume counters that Sukuna simply lacks interest in his current enemies, and has not revealed his full power even after battling Gojo. A shadowy, monstrous silhouette of Sukuna is then seen looming before Maki.
Finally, there reportedly will not be a break next week. The manga will celebrate its 6th anniversary with a color spread, a 4th popularity poll launch, and a Weekly Shonen Jump cover feature.
