Cat Janice, the talented singer-songwriter behind the viral hit “Dance You Outta My Head” on TikTok, has sadly passed away at the age of 31. The news was shared by her brother on her Instagram page, where he expressed gratitude for the love and support their family had received during her illness.
Janice had been diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare form of cancer affecting bones and soft tissues, after discovering a lump in her neck. Despite undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments, she was declared cancer-free in July 2022.
In a poignant TikTok video, Janice announced her decision to release one final song, “Dance Outta My Head,” for her birthday that month, aiming to spread joy and fun despite her battle with cancer. She entrusted all proceeds from her songs to her seven-year-old son, Loren, ensuring his future well-being through her music.
Since its release, “Dance Outta My Head” soared to the top of the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart, while “Dance You Outta My Head” climbed to the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for the first time.
The overwhelming success of her music served as a testament to Janice’s enduring talent and resilience in the face of adversity. Despite her untimely passing, Janice’s legacy lives on through her music, with plans for posthumous releases as per her wishes.
Her indomitable spirit and message of self-love and gentleness continue to resonate, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew and admired her.
