There has been no official comment on the matter, but a recent rumor suggests that Marvel Studios is still working on a Silver Surfer movie. The project in question is proceeding, according to scooper Daniel Richtman, and will eventually take place following Norrin Radd’s appearance in The Fantastic Four.
Plot details are currently being withheld, though. Additionally, this report should be regarded with a grain of salt because neither Disney nor Marvel have verified it. The project was supposed to be a Special Presentation, and it was supposed to come out before The Fantastic Four.
A more current rumor said that The Fantastic Four would initiate the project, but a later one claimed that a Silver Surfer series was in the works at Disney+, with Matt Shakman, the director of The Fantastic Four, serving as executive producer.
The Fantastic Four Movie Is In Progress
Regarding The Fantastic Four itself, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays Ben Grimm/the Thing, discussed how the character of the Idol of Millions will be portrayed, declaring, “I don’t think it’s the suit. There was a suit on Michael Chiklis. The costume was apparently extremely uncomfortable. I believe that is behind us.
With the advent of technology, it’s becoming more amateur and cosplay. Most of it is captured live.” It had been Oppenheimer star David Krumholtz’s great, sort of openly craven dream to be a part of the MCU in some capacity. Prior to this, Krumholtz had said that he met with Shakman to pitch himself as the Thing.
Matt Shakman introduced me to Ben Grimm. Only because of a Twitter or Instagram post that I removed two hours after publishing it did I get to know him.” “I felt ashamed,” Krumholtz said in closing. “I just wanted to be in the conversation,” I said in my post.
And somehow, Matt saw that it was a photo of the Thing. And we talked about it in our meeting together. I’ve never been that brave in a meeting before, selling the shit out of the opportunity and demonstrating my unwavering commitment and passion for it. However, it is evident that did not occur.
Pedro Pascal, who starred in Mr. Fantastic and Reed Richard, also talked about joining The Fantastic Four. Pascal said, “I can tell you how excited I am, which is beyond.” Being in a cast like that is the most thrilling thing there is. It’s amazing to be welcomed into a family like that, and all we want to do is give it our all and show the world.”
There is no release date yet for the Silver Surfer project. On July 25, 2025, The Fantastic Four will debut in theaters.
