Four lucky girls will get to go on hometown dates, but not until the six women who are left must survive another week in Canada.
At this time, tensions are only getting worse as Joey, who claims he is genuinely seeking clarity and confidence before going to meet everyone’s families, starts to develop meaningful connections with all of the women. Four women will go on a group date this week, and the other two will have one-on-ones.
Given that Daisy and Joey went on their first date much earlier in the season, it is not shocking that Daisy gets the first one-on-one. After enjoying a leisurely ride on a horse across the countryside, the two unwind in a remote hot spring. Conversation becomes a little more serious at supper.
Recap
Daisy explains to Joey that although she isn’t in love with him just yet, she doesn’t want him to believe that she isn’t giving the relationship her all attention. She only needs more time to realize her potential.
Daisy reassures Joey that meeting her parents will take their relationship to the next level, but Joey appears hesitant and says he wants to feel certain about it.
Given how sick she was a few years ago, she claims they are protective of her and want to make sure her spouse will genuinely fulfill their commitment to be with “in sickness and in health.” Joey declares that he’s all in, and Daisy receives a rose, so it appears that they both get something from the talk.
The final group date of the season is planned for Kelsey T., Maria, Jenn, and Rachel, and none of them are looking forward to it. Of course, they’d all liked to have been chosen for a one-on-one. Joey is also aware of this. He hopes they will do the same, but he still wants to make the best of the circumstances.
The women participate in a sort of obstacle course and learn about lumberjacking (is that really a word?). Although Jenn steals the show by interrupting one of Joey’s on-camera interviews to give him a “good luck kiss,” Kelsey T. wins with some outstanding skills. Nobody is overjoyed about it. That is, excluding Jenn and Joey.
That is, until Joey shows up and nevertheless pulls Maria away. Hey, you set the rules when you’re The Bachelor. He tells Maria that he wants to see her more but that he has to be sure she’s committed.
He genuinely likes her. She admits to him that she can’t let her fears control her, but she still wants to stay. Joey chooses to give her a rose as a result. He offers Rachel one as well.
