In its fourteenth season, the widely watched reality series Gold Rush on Discovery Channel explores more into the life of Yukon gold miners as they tirelessly look for lucrative gold resources.
Parker Schnabel leads his side in the season’s opening match, a high-stakes match played on a 4-acre plot that puts their physical and financial resolve to the test. Rick Ness is working to keep up the gold production but is facing personal challenges.
Problems arise once the miners overcome their own challenges. Detective Forst’s lead actor teases a potential second season. Tensions increase as Tony and his group struggle with equipment issues, and a furious altercation between Dustin and Mitch echoes across the wintry countryside.
The Beets dynasty finds itself at a crossroads due to the consequences of their ambitions. Parker is going for undiscovered land at Australia Creek, which is located across the Yukon River, in the hopes of discovering great riches in the harsh Alaskan wilderness.
Kevin, Tony’s son, experiences the repercussions of the never-ending pursuit of wealth during the conflict and announces his plan to quit the mine, which has a significant impact on the community.
Recap
Tony restores an ancient wash plant to bring in more gold; Rick spends his first full week in Rally Valley in the hopes of making a big score; and Parker’s crew inadvertently releases a torrent of water that causes chaos.
With only a few weeks remaining in the mining season and 800 ounces short of his 2,500-ounce target, Tony Beets is under pressure. After a five-year break, he returns to his dredge, which is run by Greg Mason, with the goal of catching 60 ounces in its first full week.
The dredge runs steadily at an ounce per hour and is very economical because it only needs two operators.
An accident happens when the bucket line of the dredge breaks, leading to a major delay. Tony and his group try to use an excavator to rejoin the bucket line, but it turns out to be a difficult and time-consuming procedure.
As the season comes to a close, Rick Ness must overcome his own obstacles and obtain over 360 ounces in order to reach his target. He moves from the bench cut to Rally Valley in the hopes that his numbers will increase due to the latter’s high pay dirt.
Rick prepares Monster Red for operation by shutting down Rocky, his wash plant, in order to maximize processing capacity. Their work is hampered by a missing adaptor, so Rick and his group have to come up with a temporary fix.
