Reports emerged on February 19 that Go Hyun Jung is set to lead the upcoming K-drama “Namib” (working title), portraying the role of an entertainment company CEO. Responding to these reports, Go Hyun Jung’s agency, IOK Company, stated, “Go Hyun Jung received the offer to lead the upcoming K-drama, and she is currently positively reviewing it.”
If confirmed, “Namib” will mark Go Hyun Jung’s second upcoming K-drama. The renowned actress is already slated to star in “The Mantis,” the Korean adaptation of the 2017 French series “La Mante.”
Go Hyun Jung’s most recent appearance was in the 2023 Netflix original K-drama “Mask Girl,” where she shared the screen with Lee Han Byeol, After School’s Nana, Ahn Jae Hong, Yeom Hye Ran, and Shin Ye Seo.
Known for her stellar performances in K-dramas like “Reflection of You,” “Dear My Friends,” “The Queen’s Classroom,” “Queen Seon Duk,” “Sandglass,” “A Love Without Fear,” and more, Go Hyun Jung has become a prominent figure in the Korean entertainment industry.
“Namib” is set to narrate the tale of an entertainment agency CEO and a long-term male trainee. Initially approaching the trainee with dubious intentions, the CEO ultimately aids him in realizing his dreams.
The role offered to Go Hyun Jung is that of Kang Soo Hyun, the CEO of an entertainment company that has trained a male trainee named Yoo Jin Woo for an extended period.
Initially motivated by personal gain, her intentions towards the trainee transform, and she endeavours to assist him in making his debut.
As of now, there are no reports on the actor who will portray the character of Yoo Jin Woo, the talented male trainee facing difficulties in making his debut.
“Namib” is a collaboration between director Jung Da Won, known for works like “Miss & Mrs. Cops” and “Garak Market Revolution,” and writer Um Sung Min.
The drama is anticipated to offer a compelling narrative with Go Hyun Jung potentially adding another remarkable role to her extensive repertoire.
