Fans are eagerly discussing several major plot points from the latest chapter. Chapter 251 shows Maki Zen’in dramatically appearing on the battlefield in the closing moments.
Earlier pages reveal Yuji Itadori making contact with Megumi Fushiguro’s soul inside the culling game and learning his friend has lost the desire to go on living.
However, what has generated significant fan discussion is the situation with Yuta Okkotsu after he sustained a major injury from the World Bisecting Slash technique.
Yup with the scans, it’s clear to see Yuta got sliced in half.
He also lost the hand with the ring + his domain broke so he’s on CT burnout.
The question is does Gege have a plan to save Yuta from the same attack that killed Gojo? I seriously doubt it

Given the clear damage depicted, readers are worried that Okkotsu’s long-awaited return to the Jujutsu Kaisen story may tragically be very short-lived.
Did Sukuna Kill Yuta In The Latest Chapter?
Despite the devastating attack sustained by Yuta Okkotsu in chapter 251, the currently available information and artwork suggest he has somehow survived thus far.
A major reason this seems the likely outcome is his injuries appear less severe relative to the damage Satoru Gojo endured earlier.
This contrasts with the full power of Sukuna’s technique due to the sorcerer still recovering from previous injuries against Gojo by his own admission in the story’s recent events.
The somewhat diminished World Bisecting Slash hitting Yuta points to Sukuna’s lingering deficiencies in jujutsu.
Additionally, chapter 251 apparently sets the stage for Yuta’s survival.
In closing scenes, Yuta’s Domain Expansion barrier allegedly begins deteriorating, allowing access for those previously shut outside it.
While Maki Zen’in enters after this collapse due to having no Cursed Energy, the barrier could have been penetrated at any point by certain individuals.
The collapse of Yuta’s domain barrier now allows those with Cursed Energy to enter the fray.
Ui Ui will probably utilize his teleportation technique to warp directly to Yuta’s side.
Ui Ui’s likely options are either transporting healer Shoko Ieiri to the scene to treat Yuta’s injuries or returning Yuta to the sidelines where Shoko is stationed.
Since Shoko can apply the Reverse Cursed Technique healing ability on others, she should be able to at least stabilize Yuta enough to save his life.
While he may be unable to rejoin the fight against Sukuna, Yuta seems poised to survive despite the damage incurred.
However, Yuta rejoining the clash may prove unnecessary given the latest development of Maki running Sukuna through with her Split Soul Katana.
Fans have long speculated this special blade could be pivotal in freeing Megumi and Yuji’s souls. So Yuta and the other sorcerers may be much nearer to triumph over Sukuna than initially evident based on Maki’s timely strike.
If the fan theories prove correct that her Split Soul Katana can sever the link between the entrapped souls and Sukuna, then the dynamics of this confrontation could drastically shift.
Yuta’s debilitating injury may no longer matter with Maki’s attack providing the key to overpowering Sukuna for good.
So while Yuta’s fate remains uncertain, there is a building sense the tide could be turning squarely against the formidable Sukuna thanks to the well-timed actions of Maki Zenin.
More From Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 251
A flashback shows Yuji previously receiving critical guidance from Hana and Angel on properly using Jacob’s Ladder technique to separate Megumi from Sukuna.
In the present events, the blood Yuji smeared on Sukuna’s face detonates, allowing Yuji to force open a metaphysical entry between Sukuna and Megumi’s souls.
With urgent haste, Yuji calls out to Megumi, imploring his friend to rouse from his perilous torpor.
However, despite the meticulous planning and technical effort by Yuji and Yuta in this rescue attempt, an unexpected impediment emerges.
It appears Megumi himself has lost the will to go on living after the crushing trauma endured.
In a gut-wrenching moment, Megumi pleads for Yuji to stop, declaring he can’t take anymore and is resigning himself to fate.
This tragic revelation poses a serious obstacle to the intricately calculated soul separation plan.
Yuji and Yuta may be forced to first restore Megumi’s will before the technique can properly work to free him from Sukuna.
This dire twist suggests the clash may become both a physical and emotional battle to revive Megumi’s crushed spirit.
