In a recently released scene from the popular Netflix series Bridgerton, tension is growing between Colin and Penelope as the countdown to season 3 continues. The third oldest Bridgerton son and the youngest Featherington have an unrequited relationship that was depicted for two seasons.
Netflix’s Bridgerton, from Shondaland and creator Chris Van Dusen, is based on the romance novels of the same name written by Julia Quinn. The eight Bridgerton siblings—Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth—are followed throughout the show as they navigate life in Regency-era England and look for love during the social season.
However, the upcoming episode will finally show a significant change as their friendship quickly develops into romance. But it appears like there might be some obstacles in the way of that.
Netflix has now made available fresh footage from season three of Bridgerton, which features an intense argument between Colin and Penelope. In the official video, a weary Miss Featherington confronts Colin about his cruel comments she overheard during the season 2 finale, having grown weary of his conflicting signals. But at that moment, Colin has no excuse for his actions.
The Relationship Between Colin and Penelope Is Revealed in This Bridgerton Season 3 Clip
The scene, which is probably from the first episode, gives viewers an idea of Colin and Penelope’s relationship at the start of season three of Bridgerton. Colin just got back from his traditional summer travels, during which he wrote to Penelope on a regular basis.
Penelope did not respond to his letters because she was offended by his hurtful comments in the Bridgerton season 2 finale. Colin tells Penelope he misses her, hoping to reignite their friendship. At this point, Penelope decides to confront Colin for claiming he would never court her after growing weary of his contradictory statements.
Penelope tries to break off her lifelong crush on Colin after overhearing him and begins looking for another suitor. But Penelope, as she puts it in the season 3 clip, is in her “third year on the marriage mart with no prospects to show for it” and has accepted her status as a “spinster,” a single woman who has outlived her marriageable years.
Although it’s unclear how their friendship develops into romance in Bridgerton season 3, it seems like Penelope is fed up with Colin’s mistreatment and won’t put up with it any longer.
