Former Biden family business associate Tony Bobulinski made critical but unproven claims against President Joe Biden in a closed-door House interview. He asserted Biden’s deep involvement in his son’s overseas business dealings, alleging Biden’s role was more than passive.
Bobulinski implicated Biden in a proposed lucrative deal with a Chinese energy conglomerate, insisting that the family’s business was synonymous with Joe Biden himself.
Despite Bobulinski’s allegations, which he claims are supported by evidence, including meetings with Joe Biden in 2017, there is no independent verification of his claims.
The Trump campaign had previously been privy to Bobulinski’s story, but mainstream media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, did not corroborate his assertions.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer commended Bobulinski’s testimony and criticized the Democratic handling of the interview. However, top Democrat Jamie Raskin dismissed Bobulinski’s credibility, asserting that his encounters with Biden were casual and not indicative of substantive business discussions.
Bobulinski’s claims have faced scrutiny from other Biden family associates. Rob Walker, another business associate, dismissed Bobulinski’s allegations as nonsensical and politically motivated. He revealed that Bobulinski had recorded conversations without disclosure, aiming to sensationalize claims about Hunter Biden’s laptop.
Despite Bobulinski’s narrative, other associates maintain that Joe Biden was not involved in family business ventures. Democrats have accused Republicans of using Bobulinski’s unverified claims to tarnish the president’s image, questioning his fitness to serve.
The controversy persists, with Republicans emphasizing an email discussing equity arrangements for a Chinese deal as evidence of Biden family influence-peddling.
While Bobulinski’s claims fuel ongoing political debate, federal authorities have not acted on his allegations, and they have not been cited in the Justice Department’s indictment against Hunter Biden for tax evasion and financial crimes.
