Shaun White, despite retiring from competitive snowboarding, continues to showcase fresh maneuvers, notably one named after his girlfriend, Nina Dobrev.
The three-time Olympic gold medalist recently posted a video on TikTok and Instagram, unveiling his latest snowboarding maneuver. In the footage, 37-year-old Shaun White lifts 35-year-old Nina Dobrev while snowboarding, executing spins as they descend the slopes. Holding the Vampire Diaries alum by her legs, he innovatively introduces the move, christened the “Nina 900.”
Following the flawless execution of the “Nina 900,” White gently returns Dobrev to the slope, and the duo seamlessly snowboards side by side, bringing the video to a captivating conclusion.
Numerous fans expressed admiration for the snowboarder’s latest move. One user commented, “This is the most romantic thing I’ve ever seen.” Another jokingly likened it to “National Geographic snowboarders mating in the wild.”
Amid the humor, some suggested the Olympian introduce the move to the international multi-sport event, with one user exclaiming, “A new sport for the Olympics!” Claudia Sulewski joined in, stating, “This is amazing hahaha,” to which White playfully responded, “You and Finneas next,” referencing the model’s boyfriend, Finneas O’Connell.
Before their snowy escapade, Dobrev shared in 10 that she and White have a unique approach to planning date nights. “We implemented something, I think, it’s really cool,” she said. “We do date night every week and we alternate [planning].”
Dobrev elaborated that their weekly dates “keep things sort of exciting and interesting and dedicate time for the two of us to spend together.”
While Dobrev has enjoyed time on the slopes, White reciprocated the support by visiting her during the filming of The Bricklayer in Greece. Dobrev reflected, “During the Olympics and leading up to the Olympics, he was traveling all over the world, trying to get to the mountains and training.”
She further shared, “For a lot of our relationship, it was me traveling to where he had to be, except for during COVID when I was in between jobs. So, it was cool to have him support me and come out to where I was.”
