The Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, encompassing the base game and the Burning Shores expansion, has been announced and released for the PlayStation 5 (PS5) in late 2023. Now, the PC version of the title is available for pre-purchase on both Steam and the Epic Games Store at a price of $59.99/ £49.99.
Developed by Nixxes Software in collaboration with Guerrilla Games, the PC edition boasts features such as unlocked frame rates, customizable graphics settings, and various performance-enhancing technologies including NVIDIA DLSS 3 upscaling and frame generation.
Additionally, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS are supported, and the game leverages DirectStorage for quick loading times on PC. According to Julian Huijbregts, an online community specialist at Nixxes, the Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition on PC supports ultra-wide resolutions, including 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide, and even 48:9 resolutions for triple-monitor setups.
The game offers fully customizable mouse and keyboard controls, allowing players to navigate the Forbidden West and battle machines according to their preferences. The PC version also features extensive controller support, including Steam Input support for remapping and customization.
