My Happy Ending Episode 9 will be releasing this weekend and fans are eager to find out how the K-drama will progress after the last episode revealed some big secrets! In Episode 8, Jae Won lost all her memories of the past including the bitterness she had towards Yoon Jin and her husband Soon Young.
We find out that Jae Won used to go by the name Yoon Jin. She was also assaulted in highschool by her friend Yoon Jin’s then boyfriend who thought was cheating on her.
The upcoming episode will hopefully bring back all of Jae Won’s memories and help her get the revenge she had been planning from the start.
Recap
Jae Won is seen walking towards the bridge talking to herself. She could see herself and would talk about all the things that had happened in her life with this other version of her.
Back to the present, Soon Young is still trying to find out what had happened to his wife. He began to reminisce on all the moments he spent with her and tries to figure out when Jae Won began to act suspicious.
He remembered how she had begged him to take care of their daughter while apologizing for everything. As Soon Young slowly got more worried about Jae Won’s whereabouts, she enters the house and acts completely normal.
All her memories had vanished. Jae Won forgot that Soon Young wasn’t their daughter’s biological father and the fact that he cheated on her with Yoon Jin as an act of revenge. Everything that had happened in the past few days all vanished from her brain.
When Jae Won goes to work, she doesn’t hold any more animosity for Yoon Jin which makes the latter remember a past incident where Jae Won had lost her memories the same way back in high school.
Meanwhile, at home, Soon Young takes a look at all the medicines Jae Won was taking and rushes to the doctor to confirm what they were for. He finds out that she had bipolar disorder and that she needed to be hospitalized soon as her condition was getting worse.
When Soon Young returns, he’s greeted with a surprise birthday party thrown by Jae Won and his daughter which makes him emotional. He immediately leaves and Jae Won follows him asking what’s wrong. He tells her he knew everything about her illness and hated the fact that she had kept it a secret.
The two share a bittersweet moment outside as they cry and embrace the harsh reality. The next day, Jae Won tells Yoon Jin that Soon Young was now aware of her illness. To trigger her old memories, Yoon Jin suggest Jae Won they should pay a visit to their old high school.
It turns out that Jae Won too used to go by the name Yoon Jin till she transferred schools. She was assaulted by a man who becomes the father of her child. However, Yoon Jin was dating that same man at the time.
When she found found out what had happened, she was on a mission to destroy Jae Won’s life. Yoon Jin had no idea that Jae Won was taken advantage of and that she was unconcious when it all took place. By the end of the episode, Yoon Jin and Jae Won are joined by Soon Young and Te Oh in a restaurant.
The conversation gets uncomfortable when Yoon Jin mentions how she wants a husband like Soon Young. She further goes on to point out the dissimilarity between him and his daughter; marking the end of the episode.
