The official website for the television anime adaptation of Megumi Morino’s manga “A Condition Called Love” (Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai) unveiled the cast members portraying friends of the main characters, Hotaru and Hananoi, on Tuesday.
– Yurika Kubo as Hibiki “Kyō-chan” Asami, Hotaru’s close friend since junior high school
– Maaya Sakamoto as Tsukiha “Shibamū” Shibamura, another close friend of Hotaru offering excellent advice
– Ryohei Kimura as Sōhei Yao, Hotaru’s elementary school classmate
– Ryota Ohsaka as Keigo Kurata, Kyō-chan’s boyfriend
The anime features:
– Kana Hanazawa as Hotaru Hinase
– Chiaki Kobayashi as Saki Hananoi (Hananoi-kun)
Tomoe Makino (known for Aharen-san wa Hakarenai and Kotaro Lives Alone) is directing the anime at East Fish Studio. Hitomi Amamiya (involved in Merc Storia: The Apathetic Boy and the Girl in a Bottle, Chillin’ in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King’s Army) is supervising and writing the series scripts, while Akiko Satō (recognized for Trigun Stampede) is responsible for character design.

Kodansha USA Publishing commenced the digital English publication of the manga in 2020. The first compiled volume hit English bookshelves physically in January 2023, and the sixth volume was released this Tuesday. Describing the manga’s narrative, Kodansha USA Publishing portrays:

Morino initiated the manga serialization in Kodansha’s Monthly Dessert magazine in December 2017. The 14th compiled volume of the manga was released on November 13 by Kodansha.
With a circulation exceeding 3.8 million copies, the manga secured the Best Shōjo Manga accolade in Kodansha’s 45th Manga Awards in 2021.
