The Duchess of York, Sara Ferguson, has been taking time to herself to overcome the shock diagnosis she got after her announcement of being diagnosed with breast cancer last June.
Last year, in June 2023, it came out that Sara Ferguson, the Duchess of York, had been diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer.
She had already undergone the surgery, which was successful, and while she was recovering from her past cancer case, shockingly, the Duchess learned about her skin cancer.
The Duchess of York is undergoing a skin cancer diagnosis.
On Monday, the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, shared a post on her Instagram saying that she has been “taking some time to myself” following the shock diagnosis that came into her life months after she announced being diagnosed with breast cancer last June.
As per the statements obtained by people, it came out that, following her diagnosis with an early form of breast cancer in June 2023, Sarah, Duchess of York, has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma.
Melanoma is a tumor produced by the malignant transformation of melanocytes; it is considered one of the serious types of skin cancer.
It is said by the spokesperson that there were some moles the Duchess had, which have now been removed and analyzed by a dermatologist since the time she was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy, and one of the moles that was identified as capable of causing cancer.
The post that Sarah made on her Instagram was of a picture of herself in a mountainous location with a smile on her face, along with the caption, which read, “It was thanks to the great vigilance of my dermatologist that the melanoma was detected when it was.”.
The Duchess also mentioned in the caption to her post that, naturally, this other cancer diagnosis was a shock, but, now she is in ‘good spirits’ and grateful for the many messages of “love and support” she has received during this difficult time.
While having a hard time for herself, she also wants to help her lovers by reminding them to get themselves checked as well.
As she said, she believes that her experience underlines the importance of keeping a check on, the size, shape, color, texture, and emergence of new moles, which can also be a sign of melanoma, and urges anyone reading this caption to be diligent.
In her caption to the post, Sarah also thanks the incredible medical team that she had as a support throughout both of her experiences with cancer and also to the MAYRLIFE clinic in Altaussee, Austria, where she has been recuperating for taking gentle care of her in the past few weeks. For now, she is in London with her family at home.
The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, ended her caption with “blessed to have the love and support” about her family.
She is also being examined more to ensure that the cancer has been caught in its early stages and no other problems are ahead.
The representative said that having another diagnosis soon after the treatment for breast cancer has been distressing, but the Duchess remains in good spirits.
After the Duchess was diagnosed with breast cancer, it was discovered that she had a lot of support from both her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, throughout her breast cancer journey.
On New Year’s Eve, Sarah gave a message on her Instagram post that she had beach breast cancer, a mid-year of “ups and downs’’.
While referring to her reconstructed left-side breast, which she named Derek, following a successful mastectomy, she wrote, “I beat breast cancer, and now I have a Derek on my left.”
