Ashley Park, from Emily in Paris, had to face a severe health emergency in the first month of her year. The actress posted a series of images that are from her being hospitalized and staying in a care unit due to critical septic shock.
She also added a caption explaining her current situation and how the actress has been feeling while recovering during the first few weeks of 2024. During the vacations, what started as tonsillitis soon spiraled into a critical septic shock.
Ashley Park fell into a health emergency
On January 19, Ashley Park posted a picture of herself from the hospital and made the revelation that she is recovering from her critical septic shock—the last and most severe stage of Sepsis. Currently, Park is in the intensive care unit of the hospital and has written a caption with details that explain her current situation and recovery journey that reads “As I sit here processing and recovering from the first few weeks of 2024, the only word I can think of is grateful,” Ashley wrote in her caption.
Ashley also shared that she was on a holiday during December celebrating New Year when she fell into the problem, which started as tonsillitis but spiraled into critical septic shock. It spread so much that it had infected and affected several of her organs, and she added, “I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we had initially been told.”
A source said that, in the beginning, Ashley was very weak but is slowly on the mend. The information given by the Mayo Clinic says that septic shock is a life-threatening medical condition that causes failure of organs due to Sepsis, which occurs when an infection gets into the body, causing the person to have blood pressure go extremely low.
In her caption, Ashley also mentioned how grateful she is for having Paul Forman, her co-star of Emily in Paris, by her side while she was going through this difficult time. There is still a public debate about Ashely and Forman having any romantic relationship, as they were spotted holding hands at an event in October.
Ashley wrote in her caption, “You calmed my fears and held me through the ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary ERs, countless scans and tests and injections, excruciating pain, and so much confusion all while we were on the other side of the world, far from those we know” about Forman.
She posted a picture of Forman sitting in front of her in the hospital, as she wrote in the caption, “I love you, Paul. More than I can ever say.”
While sharing her gratitude to the hospital that helped her during this, Park wrote in the caption for her post, “And I am deeply grateful to every doctor, and I see you, nurse, who worked timelessly, and especially the @JoealiBing team for responding immediately and staying with me to provide language translations and vital support.”
Following that, she also gave her ‘infinite thanks’ to her team of ‘heroes at home’ who were on calls with insurance, Paul, her parents, and doctors at all hours. “You know who you are.”
Park admitted that at first, she was hesitant to share this news of her being at the hospital and about all the things she has gone through because she was still in the “throes of recovery,” but now she knows and feels that she’s safely on the “other side of the worst.” Ashley ended the caption of her post by saying, “I love you all; I’m healing, and I promise I’m going to be okay.”
Since Ashley shared the post, the comment section of it has been flooded with good wishes from friends, fans, and fellow stars for her recovery journey. Her coaster from Emily in Paris, Lilly Collins, commented, “I can hardly look at these without crying” and further added “I love you, sister, and I’m forever grateful you’re on the other side of this. Thank you, @peforman, for your incredible, huge heart and for being there every step of the way. I cannot wait to hug you both.”
Michael Urie also commented on the post, “Oh Ashley! I’m so sorry, and I’m so glad you’re through the worst,” whereas Natasha Beddingfield added, “That must’ve been terrifying. I know about hospitals; the doctors and nurses are incredible. So much love to you, and you’re on the mend,” along with Paris Hilton, who said, “I love you, sis. Feel better” and “Sending you so much love. Feel better soon!!!” commented Donatella Versace.
