Elisabeth thinks that Kirstan won’t leave her even if she hurt him but this only makes her sad as Kirstan has been taking care of her as if she’s a child.
Recap
Kirstan then removes Elisabeth’s clothes and then he immediately covers her up to avoid looking. Elisabeth looks at Kirstan’s tense expression and wonders if something is making him angry. Elisabeth then goes for a bath.
While in the bath, Elisabeth thinks about how she felt back then. Elisabeth fails to understand what is happening to her body and she wonders if Andrei has something to do with it. Kirstan calls for Elisabeth and tells her that she can tell him if she needs anything.
Elisabeth hesitates for a bit but then she finally asks Kirstan if he’s angry with her. Kirstan couldn’t understand how Elisabeth got to this conclusion and so she explains that Kirstan’s actions and voice towards her have become more stiff than before.
Kirstan doesn’t respond to Elisabeth at first and so Elisabeth tells him that he has all right to be angry at her considering how much trouble she has caused so far because of those evil people that targeted her. Elisabeth starts crying while thinking of how much trouble she is causing for Kirstan but Kirstan suddenly tells her that he’s not angry.
Kirstan reminds Elisabeth about their contract which mentions that he will protect Elisabeth while she secures his succession. Kirstan says according to the agreements of the contract, this entire incident is his fault because he entrusted Elisabeth’s safety to someone else’s hands.
Kirstan tells Elisabeth that if she’s angry then she can direct all of her anger toward him. Kirstan thinks that it was foolish of him to give in to his urges and leave the Frontline. It was Kirstan’s impulse that made him bothered by the greed that was directed towards Elisabeth by the Uzhil Kindom.
Kirstan didn’t want to witness Elisabeth getting humiliated again and so he thought that her carriage falling off a cliff was some kind of a blessing in disguise. Kirstan sighs and tells Elisabeth that the incident happened because he forgot which side was more important.
Kirstan reassures Elisabeth that he will be more careful in the future so that she won’t have to worry again. Elisabeth approaches Kirstan and asks him if she’s important to him. Kirstan tells Elisabeth that out of all the people that have been placed under his protection so far, she’s the most precious to him.
Kirstan also assures Elisabeth that she will have the same value for him for the entirety of the six-month contract period. Elisabeth hugs Kirstan and tells him that if he truly considers her precious then he should stop pushing her away whenever she tries to hold him as she doesn’t have anyone else to hold onto.
Elisabeth thinks that the contract with Kirstan is all that she has now because she lost everything else in her life. She thinks that if Kirstan left her then would have already died by sinking into the river.
Elisabeth looks at Kirstan and sees nothing except thorny paths, lake bottoms, and cliffs which are all dangerous but she knows that there’s no place in this world that is safer than being by Kirstan’s side.
Elisabeth holds Kirstan and asks him to promise her that he will never entrust her safety to anyone other than him. Kirstan hesitates for a bit and then he leans closer and promises Elisabeth that he will always protect her.
