Recap
Ao no Exorcist Season 3’s second episode follows Rin’s twin brother Yukio Okumura on an adventure full of identity crises and demon-fighting missions. Things become quite intense at this point.
Yukio is called upon by the True Cross Order to share the specifics of his most recent encounter with the formidable demon Saburota Todo at the beginning of the episode. Yukio and the other members of the True Cross Order are asked to investigate the situation since they are concerned about these new demon-eaters.
Following this encounter, Yukio begins to wonder about his true identity. It’s not easy being Rin’s twin and connected to Satan (yeah, that big rude demon), especially when he realizes that he and Rin have these weird blue flames in our eyes.
As Yukio considers his background and his place in the world, this internal conflict takes on significant importance.
When Yukio chooses to see his friend Shiemi to assist her with her schoolwork, the narrative takes an intense turn.
A flashback shows Yukio’s relationship with Mephisto Pheles, who looks out for Rin as well as Yukio. There’s a catch, though. Mephisto hasn’t been entirely truthful about the Satan-eye incident, which has angered Yukio. Secrets, secrets!
Following this touching scene, we immediately go to the cram school at True Cross Academy, where Yukio assigns Rin and their pals a new task. Shiemi and Izumo will have to face some formidable obstacles on the front lines of this operation.
When we witness Izumo battling her problems and finding it difficult even to express “thank you” to Shiemi for her previous assistance, the narrative develops.
As the task progresses, Izumo can give Shiemi back by rescuing her from a perilous circumstance with a monster by the name of Mayuko. This section of the story highlights the value of friendship and unity, particularly when demon hunting is involved.
Now, we shift to Russia, where Lewin Light and Arthur A. Angel are part of a team tasked with looking into a closed scientific facility. They search for demons, but what they discover is astounding a man-made Gehenna gate that is growing far too quickly. It’s not good news because it resembles a portal to a demonic realm.
Mephisto Pheles intervenes and stops the gate from expanding by using his magical abilities to build a barrier that freezes time inside the institute.
Lewin Light deduces that the only group capable of pulling off anything as absurd as opening a Gehenna entrance would be a formidable institution such as the Illuminati. Play the music related to the conspiracy!
As the episode comes to a close, Saburota Todo meets an enigmatic person who appears to be the brains behind the Gehenna Gate debacle. This prepares our characters for even more riddles and difficulties. Ao no Exorcist Season 3 Episode 2 is essentially an action-packed emotional rollercoaster.
The story is kept interesting and surprising by Yukio’s identity crisis, the people’s developing friendships, and the discovery of a large-scale Illuminati scheme. Aside from fighting demons, there are many personal issues and international draws involved, which adds to the suspense and depth for the viewer.
