Hara messed up in the last chapter and Shin belatedly realized that Ribaku had conveniently slipped out of the fortress using a secret tunnel while they were engaged in battle. The fans were quite disappointed by the author for making Shin look quite dumb and making a very obvious plot twist look like something big.

The Sou’ou army was also having a really hard time, holding the enemy forces back who had completely cut them off from going to Ousen-sama’s aid. The Shibashou army was advancing on Ousen’s army, and the latter was quite outnumbered since majority of their forces had been cut off and disrupted by the enemy.
It is obvious that watching this unfold made Sou’ou very nervous since the only thing he wants to accomplish at the end of the day is protecting his master, Ousen. Akou and Denrimi’s army had also been cut off and Shibashou was rapidly making their way to Ousen, who had basically no one to back him up.

In the previous chapter of Kingdom, Akou’s army realizes that the thirty thousand strong enemy forces were not engaging with Sou’ou’s army but actually going around them. It was very odd because they did not attack the Sou’ou army, even though the Ji Aga army was heavily outnumbered and needed some kind of backup.
It was only then So’ou realized that they had fallen for the enemy’s tricks. It was all a set up by Ji Aga, Gakushou and even Kan Sharo’s army to make way for the Shibashou Army to slip past the enemy forces, by cutting off the army’s path to advance towards Shibashou and effectively blocking them.
Sou’ou understood what Shibashou was doing and that Ouksen was in danger since all the other armies had been disrupted. If Shibashou kept advancing this way, Ouksen would have to face Shibashou’s forces head-on, which is probably not possible without some additional backup.
The generals struggle to break their way through. The Sou’ou army then gets hit by Kansaro’s army and their general freezes up because of the chaos around him.
He couldn’t think straight, seeing his soldiers getting slashed down by the enemies. He only comes to his senses when an injured Denrimi comes and shouts at him to get his wits together.
Denrimi was pretty hurt but he did not care about that. At that moment, his entire focus was on getting to Ousen and protecting him from the Shibashou’s army. The Hi Shin’s army was also cut off from the main battle field because the General took half the forces to pursue Riboku when he fled and got cornered by other forces.
It was all a very elaborate set up by the enemy to force a confrontation between Ousen and Shibashou. Just when Shibashou is about to collide with Ousen’s army, another force comes running towards them and the generals finally realized that Gyoku Hou had come to Ousen’s aid.
