The best thing about anime and other time-traveling media is that their audiences may choose from a vast array of colorful content. Just a few weeks into the year, anime fans already know of dozens of fascinating new and returning anime series that will rule the airwaves in the near future.
A few well-loved series will return with new seasons, while a few more must-watch anime will debut, helping to keep the anime industry vibrant with new heroes and adventures.
Within the quickly expanding streaming services market, Apple TV+ has established itself as a well-known platform that offers a vast selection of content to cater to the diverse tastes of its user base.
With the whole library of manga and anime titles and sequels to some of the most well-known works, Apple TV+ has shown that it is a formidable rival as well.
1. Cowboy Bebop
Cowboy Bebop is an interesting series, as the opening episode paints a vivid image of what’s to come for the viewers. The majority of Bebop’s episodes are organized episodic adventures that follow the crew of the Bebop as they try to collect money from bounty heads in order to buy food.
The stand-alone episodes all provide a greater degree of insight into Bebop’s surprisingly complex characters, and this is often accomplished via narratives that use a range of cinematic techniques.
Humanity has dispersed across the stars and settled much of the solar system in the year 2071, years after the hyperspace gateway on the moon burst.
Such bounty hunters include the former mobster Spike Spiegel and the former police officer Jet Black, who catch criminals on their starship Bebop for a livelihood. Cowboy Bebop chronicles the misadventures and exploits of this motley gang as they hunt down different bounties and work through their own histories.
2. Death Note
This is how the narrative of “Death Note” unfolds. Supernatural creatures known as shinigami inhabit their own domain. We appreciate one of them very much; his name is Ryuk.
Ryuk has a journal titled “Death Note.” This notebook has a feature that indicates that whoever writes their name, date, and time on it will pass away at that same moment.
Ryuk unintentionally releases the Death Note into the world of humans one day. And Light Yagami, a youngster in high school, discovers it. Light finds the Death Note at the beginning of the series and decides to utilize it to establish an ideal society.
He begins by murdering criminals and quickly becomes well-known for his deeds. When L, the best detective in the world, is sent in to look into the matter, he finds out right away that Kira is in Japan. Light and L start playing a game of cat and mouse, trying to outwit each other in order to capture each other.
3. Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba is centered on Tanjiro Kamado, a young child who learns that most of his family has been slaughtered and that his sister Nezuko has been turned into a demon. Unlike other demons, Nezuko proves that she can restrain her bloodlust and live in harmony with humans.
With his sister at his side, Tanjiro sets out on a journey to turn his one and only family back into humans. Tanjiro is a classic anime hero; he’s powerful, compassionate, and morally pure. His joy and upbeat attitude are a pleasant surprise, given his tragic past.
Tanjiro might have easily become one of those silent, melancholy types after all he’s been through, but instead, he chooses to smile in spite of his pain. He is so nice and ethically pure that it’s almost ridiculous, yet it’s hard not to root for him.
4. Solo Leveling
In Solo Leveling, the action takes place in Seoul during a period when some people have acquired abilities to battle monsters found inside “gates.” A power level is assigned to hunters upon their waking. Jinwoo Sung is a hunter with an e-rank, but not just any hunter.
A lot of people question why he even goes hunting for the “weakest hunter of all mankind.” In actuality, Sung is simply a regular person with a lot of financial difficulties, chief among them being that his sister needs money for college and his mother is in the hospital.
Though Sung has accepted his destiny, everything changes when he and a big party of hunters go on a D-ranked raid and discover a secret dungeon. Everybody there is exposed to something that will permanently alter their life.
5. Kingdom
The 38 episodes that make up the first season center on three different tales. We are first introduced to Xin and Piao, two battle orphans. In the Qin period, they were held as slaves in a destitute village.
Still, the goal of their daily training is to become the “Great Generals of the Heavens.” One day, for unknown reasons, a minister leaves Xin behind and brings Piao to the palace.
In the second, Ying Zheng, who is impersonating a king, asks Xin to accompany him on a mission as a group, essentially to help him accomplish his dream of becoming a general. The State of Wei is the enemy this time, and they have no compunction about using killers to kill Ying Zheng.
A few months later, near death, Piao comes to the community and begs Xin to move to another town.
Even though Xin is initially upset with Ying Zheng for killing Piao, he chooses to take advantage of the situation and helps him remove Cheng Jiao, his younger half-brother, from power and retake the Qin throne with the assistance of the Mountain Tribe, who once again become friends of the Kingdom.
6. Attack on Titan
Eren Yeager, the main character of Attack on Titan, lives on a planet protected by three circular walls that are fifty meters high. Safe from the man-eating titans that slaughter people ruthlessly for fun.
When the mysterious colossus Titan and the armored titan startlingly penetrate the outer ring wall and Eren’s outer city, Shiganshina, he is thrown into a nightmarish world.
Eren is dedicated to killing giants and regaining their nation, and he has the support of his best friend, Armin Arlert, and his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman, who is in charge of keeping Eren safe.
Together, they explore a number of dangerous and perilous paths and learn things they wish were false. You meet a lot of people who don’t make it through an episode, and the ones who do leave you restless and on the edge of your seat. The race against time never ends.
7. Hunter x Hunter
The engaging and exciting anime and manga series Hunter X Hunter follows Gon Freecss on his quest to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a hunter. There are several plot arcs in the series, each with its own distinct difficulties and setbacks.
The primary plot of the program revolves around Gon’s quest to pass the challenging Hunter Exam, which is only taken by the most qualified and motivated candidates. As he meets other hunters, he learns new things about the outside world and his own abilities.
As the narrative progresses, Gon and his friends find themselves involved in many perilous and complex situations, each more challenging than the last.
The series’ several story arcs address a wide range of subjects, such as the nature of ambition and power and the importance of friendship and commitment.
8. Demon slayer
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba centers on Tanjiro Kamado, a little boy who discovers that his whole family has been killed and that Nezuko, his only sister, has been transformed into a demon. Nezuko demonstrates that she is capable of controlling her bloodlust and coexisting with humans, in contrast to most demons.
Thus, Tanjiro embarks on a mission to transform his one and only family back into humans, with his sister by his side. Tanjiro is a classic anime hero: he’s powerful, empathetic, and morally pure. His joy and positive outlook are a pleasant surprise, given his tragic past.
Tanjiro might have easily become one of those silent, depressed types after all he’s been through, but instead, he chooses to smile in spite of his pain. It’s almost unbelievable how likable and morally upright he is, yet it’s difficult not to support him.
Next comes Nezuko, who is full of innocent youthful spirit and fiercely protective of everyone and everything she considers to be family. However, she is a devil, and when the situation calls for it, her innocence is swapped out for unyielding ferocity.
9. My Hero Academia
In the world of My Hero Academia, a certain proportion of people have unique skills known as quirks. Certain oddities are harmless, while others allow people to channel their abilities and become superheroes that protect the city.
Izuku Miridoya (Deku), our main protagonist, is born without a quirk, yet she still has drive and a strong desire to be a hero. All Might, however, reveals that he may pass on his curiosity to him just as he is ready to part with his idol and favorite superhero, Superman.
This allows him to join the UA Academy and get instruction while upholding confidentiality so that specific quirks may be passed on. In spite of having a big cast, My Hero Academia succeeds in giving each character a unique personality. But in my view, the focus of each season usually centers on the four main characters: Deku, Tordoroki, Barkugo, and All Might.
10. Bleach
At the beginning of the narrative, Ginjo and Ichigo are back in Bankai, fighting for victory with all they have. However, Ichigo moves fast to slice Ginjo severely, leaving a trail of blood. Ginjo fights back, but in the end, Ichigo outmatches him and delivers the knockout blow that causes Ginjo to stumble backward.
As Ginjo lies there dying, he muses about what may have happened if he had been Ichigo, and Ichigo had been the one who believed Soul Society had fooled him. Tsukishima is waiting silently next to Ginjo when he abruptly approaches and strikes his sword directly at Ichigo, shocking the man.
Despite Rukia’s obstruction, Riruka appears from behind and seizes the slice. She calls Tsukishima an idiot, saying that while Ginjo had rescued everyone else, they had failed to save him as well, and that in the end, Ichigo had saved him.
11. Fruit Basket
Tohru Honda, the main character of Fruits Basket, moves in with other Sohma family members after the death of her mother. Tohru’s life will be completely changed by this mystery, which reveals the Sohma brothers to be the Zodiac spirits! Every time they interact with someone who is not their own gender, they transform.
In particular, Season 1 made me reconsider the TV shows I was watching. It’s funny, but we also learn about the backgrounds of ten or fifteen different individuals. In actuality, the majority of the first season’s inspiration came from the orange-haired Kyo. He’s more of a “bad boy” than Yuki, our other primary male character. There are three seasons altogether.
12. Baugan: The Battle Begins
We are setting off on a new journey, which is going well. In the first several minutes of the show, Dan presents the concept and suggests that things may go well if he had any past Bakugan experience. This will enable us to get right into the video series’ action and the first series combat.
We are embarking on a new trip, which is proceeding well. Dan introduces the idea in the opening moments of the program, implying that if he had any prior Bakugan expertise, things might go well. This will allow us to get straight into the action of the game and the first fight of the series.
Each elemental monster has a unique match throughout the fights, and they are all hurled onto the field like marbles. Because of the way it’s built, the monster with the strongest attack wins hands-down. Benefits on cards that players use to combat monsters may sometimes come into play.
13. Death Parade
When two people pass away simultaneously on Death Parade, the tale begins, and they are summoned before a tribunal of the soul to make a judgment. “Arbiters,” who make decisions on a person’s eligibility for either rebirth or eternal damnation, staff the tribunal. The tribunal functions similarly to a bar.
Human souls will be made to play life-or-death games at these bars without realizing that they are about to die, in order to bring out the worst aspects of their souls and allow an arbiter to make an accurate judgment of a person.
One such place is the tavern Quindecim, which is owned by the white-haired arbitrator Decim. He was just an ordinary arbitrator before anything weird happened. A lone, unidentified black-haired woman was there in Quindecim. But this black-haired woman refused to participate in any games to be evaluated since she knew she was.
14. One Piece
The Straw Hat pirates, desperate for money and yearning for excitement, discover a clandestine competition offering 300 million berries as the reward and are compelled to participate. Nevertheless, there are many lethal opponents standing in their way, including giants, fishmen, the renowned bounty hunter Shuraiya, and—worst of all—General Gasparde, a former marine.
A child trying to rescue his grandfather, dangerous waters, and a vile scheme to eliminate the competitors are all included, and this expedition could end up being a dead end after all.
The One Piece: Dead End experience is ultimately straightforward yet fantastic. With some of the greatest original supporting characters we have seen in an anime film and a genuinely heinous villain, it’s a movie that truly gets its characters, and it knows how to keep you interested.
15. Ousama Ranking (Ranking of Kings)
A shockingly powerful magic trick is performed by Ousama Ranking. It tells you a narrative at first that sounds like a fairy tale from a textbook. There is Bosse, the powerful and enormous monarch who keeps his people safe from external dangers and controls his land with a firm hand.
His kid, Boji, is little, frail, and deaf. In order to support Boji and cater for all of his requirements, Bosse created his kingdom. A very good and caring parent. Domas, a talented swordsman who loves and cares for Boji nearly as much as the king, teaches Boji how to protect himself.
Boji is idealistic and naive in his concern for others, and he strives to be as wonderful as his father. Boji and Daida, his younger half-brother, who also aspires to the throne, are at odds from the start. It’s all of the regular sibling rivalry.
16. Fire Force
A new generation of humans emerged after the destruction of the Earth by an evil flame. Here in Tokyo, we are in Solar Year 198. Although the area was first seized by the fire, humans are now under its control. People have begun to spontaneously catch fire and change into demons, often known as “Infernals,” due to a phenomenon known as spontaneous human combustion.
The Fire Force, a unique league of firemen, is fighting this battle. Shinra Kusakabe, our protagonist and a recent addition to Company 8, is first encountered while on an assignment. He is striving to uncover the truth about his family’s demise twelve years ago and to solve the enigma of human combustion, just like his colleagues.
17. Techni Muyo!
In the show, Ryoko, an ancient space pirate, is unintentionally freed from her captivity in an old shrine by Tenchi Masaki, an ordinary teenage guy. He does this by taking possession of Yosho’s sword and becoming entangled in the feud between Ryoko and Ayeka, the Princess of Planet Jurai and Yosho’s half-sister.
The series sets up some funny slapstick and situational humor as more alien ladies begin showing up at Tenchi’s house. Eventually, after a struggle with the villainous Kagato, the motley group of aliens opts to remain at Tenchi’s house.
Rykio, a spike-haired space pirate with the ability to levitate through walls and the air, begins his rampage with violence. Despite her harsh and irritable behavior toward everyone else, she seems to be really in love with Tenchi as the series goes on.
18. No Guns Life
Inui Juuzou—this is roughly the name used for cyborgs in this series. With a pistol for a head, he can only operate in society at large by assisting the authorities. He earns a livelihood by taking on tasks that require other cyborgs.
A succession of these positions and Juuzou’s conflicts with the massive, global conglomerate Berühren are essentially the subject of the anime. There are a few quite serious errors. First, we learn that Juuzou’s pistol cannot be fired on his own head due to the trigger being located at the back of his skull.
At a location that is within a normal range of motion for you to access, there is no sign that he is limited in any way. Furthermore, we see it fired once in this series, and that too by a child, so you can’t claim that someone requires specific permission.
19. The Promised Neverland
Emma, along with her adoptive siblings, is an orphan residing at Grace Field House. As they got to spend and enjoy their daily lives with their “Mom,” Isabella, everything seemed picture-perfect.
They almost had the ideal existence any youngster could hope for, together with her two closest pals, Ray and Norman. However, all changed one devoted night when they discovered the sordid truth about both the orphanage and their so-called mother.
Their house was only a facade. Grace Field is really a plantation, a farm of human offspring. In actuality, they were raised like livestock and then sold to demons to be fed.
Emma, the most upbeat and vivacious member of the group, is here to begin. No matter what, she never loses her good attitude. She was a fierce competitor who really loved her family.
20. Goblin Slayer
An anime series with twelve episodes called Goblin Slayer centers on the eponymous character’s solo mission to keep goblins out of the universe. The fictional world of Goblin Slayer is home to a variety of legendary and terrifying creatures, all of whom extend an invitation to bravery to countless young people who accept money in exchange for completing monster-slaying missions.
As they start careers as “Adventurers.” Even inexperienced adventurers with a “Porcelain” rating detest hunting goblins and are ready to move on to more exotic prey.
Some people were offended by the amount of violence in the first episode of Goblin Slayer, yet the way it was presented had some elements of realism. Hostile confrontations between tribes who believed their opponent had no moral hold upon them during the days of primal warfare might have disastrous results.
21. Fairy Tail
Many guilds exist on Earth, where wizards use their power to fulfill requests for paid work. A dragon-slayer wizard from the Fairy Tail guild named Natsu Dragneel searches the Kingdom of Fiore for his adopted father, the dragon Igneel, who has gone missing.
He becomes friends with Lucy Heartfilia, a young heavenly magician, and extends an invitation for her to join Fairy Tail while on his travels. Together with Happy, an Exceed who is essentially a cat with wings, the two go off on a number of adventures with other guild members.
Facing many adversaries as they uncover the mysteries of their history and the schemes of Zeref, the Black Wizard. Fairy Tail, like many other Shounen, like Naruto, One Piece, and so forth, is centered on the familial ties—possibly even stronger than those—that are formed inside their guild.
The absence of actual loss during lethal combat removes some of the danger from the storyline, even if, at times, the debate truly sent shivers down my spine because of how epic it was throughout the action.
22. Ascendance of a Bookworm
Following your passion might feel like a difficult endeavor at times, even unachievable. This is the situation for Urano Motosu, a young woman who aspires to work as a librarian. Urano’s life is tragically cut short in an ironic turn of events, but it’s not the end for her.
Rather, she wakes up in a universe where books appear to be out of reach while inhabiting the body of a little girl named Myne. Myne must therefore face several challenges while attempting to cope with her less-than-ideal circumstances.
Myne is a helpless youngster who is unable to do much on her own. partly due to her young age and the fact that she suffers from a condition called “the devouring.”
23. Cardcaptor Sakura
A kid in elementary school named Sakura Kinomoto resides in the fictional Japanese town of Tomoeda.
She lives with her father, Fujitaka Kinomoto, a professor. Her mother, Nadeshiko, passed away when she was a little kid. She lives with her father and Toya Kinomoto, her brother from high school. She is described as a very athletic girl who hates math.
She lives with her father, Fujitaka Kinomoto, a professor. Her mother, Nadeshiko, passed away when she was a little kid. She lives with her father and Toya Kinomoto, her brother from high school. She is described as a very athletic girl who hates math.
Sakura makes an effort to spend as much time as she can with Yukito, Toya’s closest friend since she has a major crush on him. Sakura’s world seems to be regular, but then things start to go wrong.
24. Toradora!
The story centers on two pairs of friends, Minori Kushieda and Taiga Aisaka, and Ryuji Takasu and Yuusaku Kitamura. Minori is liked by Ryuji, whereas Kitamura is liked by Taiga. In order for both of them to eventually meet their love interests, Ryui and Taiga resolve to cooperate.
Toradora is often rather satirical. It doesn’t consider itself to be very serious. It sometimes becomes a bit more serious, but such instances are few and far between, allowing the program to really go completely bonkers. J.C. Staff, the show’s producers, excels at crafting non-linear narratives.
It is a bit difficult to guess what will be covered in the following episode, even if there is a logical progression from one episode to the next. Above all, it never forgets its central idea, which is the agreement between Ryuji and Taiga.
25. MF Ghost
In the world of MF Ghost, the majority of motor vehicles are electric and self-driving due to environmental concerns. The few conventional automobiles are employed for sports, including MFG, which is a sanctioned kind of street racing. Thanks to drones broadcasting live feeds, fans from all over the globe can watch, and it showcases automobiles from all over the world rather than just Japan.
The fact that everyone is watching from a distance and that drones are tracking the vehicles serves as a stark reminder that MF Ghost lacks one of Initial D’s most obvious features: large crowds of people attending the races in person.
Initial D’s plot takes place in the 1990s and concludes only a year or two later; therefore, even though the manga concluded in 2013, everything of that era’s technology is still in the future.
26. Hajimete No Gal
“Hajimete No Gal,” also known as “My First Girlfriend is a Gal,” is a Japanese manga and anime series. The story revolves around Junichi Hashiba, a high school student who is pressured by his friends to get a girlfriend.
Feeling desperate, Junichi resorts to a bold move: he confesses his love to Yukana Yame, a fashionable and extroverted girl known as a “gal.” To Junichi’s surprise, Yukana accepts his confession, leading to an unexpected relationship.
The series explores various themes such as the challenges of high school life, misconceptions about people based on their appearances, and the complexities of teenage relationships.
As Junichi navigates his new relationship with Yukana, he confronts his own insecurities and learns about the importance of genuine feelings and respect in a relationship.
The story is filled with comedic elements, romantic developments, and the dynamics of friendship, offering a blend of humor and heartwarming moments. “Hajimete No Gal” showcases the awkward, often humorous journey of Junichi’s first experience with love.
