Following the unexpected finale of her own documentary series, Natalia Grace has started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the costs of a new place to live as well as any necessary medical treatments.
Natalia, who was born with a rare kind of dwarfism, hopes to buy her own house after the exciting conclusion of the ID documentary “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks.”
In the description of her GoFundMe page, she states, “I recently moved out, and I’m saving money to get my own house so I can have a personal place of my own.” In addition, Natalia wants to start her own photography company as part of this adult fresh start in an effort to overcome the obstacles she has encountered all of her life.
Natalia Grace explains her health condition
Natalia further detailed her medical condition, diastrophic dysplasia, revealing that she anticipates the necessity of multiple surgeries.
As a Ukrainian orphan, she foresees the need for surgeries on her legs and spine, estimating a cost exceeding $500,000. Natalia asserts that her specialist does not accept her medical insurance, adding to the financial challenge.
Expressing her aspirations in the GoFundMe campaign, Natalia stated, “I would like to make enough to at least put a deposit on my own place and start a business to start earning some money so I can start saving for this expensive treatment.” She emphasized that any funds exceeding her goal would be directed toward covering the significant costs of her medical treatment.
Natalia Grace has a fundraising goal set at $20,000
With a fundraising goal set at $20,000, Natalia has already garnered nearly $1,500 in less than a day. She has also shared the fundraiser link on her new TikTok profile, where she boasts over 12,000 followers.
In 2010, at the age of six, Natalia was adopted and accepted into the family of Michael and Kristine Barnett. But when things didn’t work out, the Barnetts were charged with neglect in 2019. This occurred following Natalia’s 2013 move to an apartment where she lived alone, following which the family, along with their three other children, relocated to Canada.
Michael and Kristine responded to the accusations by saying that Natalia was an adult posing as a child. They claimed that she was born in 1989 instead of 2003, and they charged her with trying to hurt them. It was later discovered that Natalia was, in fact, adopted when she was a small child.
Natalia has been living with the Man’s family for the past few years; they formally adopted her in 2023. Nevertheless, Antwon Mans, Natalia’s adoptive father, voiced unease about her presence in the home at the end of Natalia Speaks.
Antwon expressed his concerns by saying, “There’s a problem with Natalia. This girl is adjusting. She seems to be the enemy in our home. She then said, “We have made it appear as though we are the enemy by holding her hostage.”
Natalia gave her Instagram followers a quick update after the finale aired, reassuring them that she was “doing well.” She did, however, state that she was bound by an agreement with ID to withhold more information, but she did pledge to share more when it became available.
In the midst of explosive revelations on TikTok, Natalia Grace opens up
Now on TikTok, Natalia Grace is the captivating life story of the Ukrainian orphan whose life has been featured in two documentaries. At the age of six, Natalia was adopted by Michael and Kristine Barnett in 2010 after being diagnosed with a rare form of dwarfism.
But things didn’t work out, and in 2019, the Barnetts were charged with neglect. After they moved Natalia into an apartment by herself in 2013 and later moved to Canada with their three other children, the controversy started. The Barnetts then asserted that Natalia was an adult posing as a child, altering her official birth year from 2003 to 1989, and claimed she had attempted to harm them.
The strange narrative was told in the May documentary series “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace” on ID and in a January follow-up titled “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks.”
DNA testing verified Natalia’s age at the time of adoption and revealed her new adoption by the Mans family, which raised hopes for a happy ending. But as the show came to an end, Natalia appeared to be at odds with her new family and voiced worries about her wellbeing.
Natalia has now embraced social media, gaining over 12,000 followers on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. In a brief Instagram post after the premiere of the finale, she reassured her audience that she was fine despite a restrictive contract with ID.
