The upcoming anime will follow Finn, the newest High Card member, a skilled pickpocket with great eyesight and focus. Learning about the only home he ever knew, that is, the orphanage, is on the brink of collapse and his journey of attempting to save it
What to Expect?
The upcoming season of High Card will primarily focus on our protagonist, Finn, who is an orphan facing difficulties in life due to his orphanage facing the death game as it is set to be demolished due to a lack of funds, and our lead attempts to gain financial stability by working hard to attempt and save the place he has known to be his home.
To make a quick buck, Finn stumbles into a casino, leading him into a world where regular playing cards have extraordinary powers and can unlock hidden abilities within people, thus starting his journey on an innocent note, but it doesn’t remain innocent for long.
Things in Finn’s innocent journey take a sharp turn to the left after he becomes the witness of a car chase and a violent shootout, all triggered by a man’s possession of what appears to be a “lucky” card that leads to Finn discovering the undercover group that goes by the name “High Card.”
Well, on further investigation, Finn realizes that the group’s goal is to gather the 52 X-Playing cards hidden across the realm, as the fact that stands is that those who possess these cards will be bestowed with special superhuman abilities.
Well, the cards also possess the extraordinary ability to unveil a person’s inner characteristic, or “buddy.” Along with providing them with a special human ability, Finn has become the new fifth member of the hidden group and is brought into the group to accompany the team on the quest to find the cards.
Finn, along with the squad, starts working secretly, assuming the identity of the staff of the upscale automaker Pinochle, thus carrying out direct orders from the king of Fourland to discover the 52 cardholders.
The path of the squad isn’t easy, as who is the foe and who is a friend remains a mystery, but Who’s Who is clearly a rival automaker determined to unseat Pinochle, along with the Klondikes, the well-known Mafia family, thus making them the two formidable and worthy opponents of High Cards.
Well, the previous season of the anime focused on the cards being stolen and spread across the vault and the High Card members bravely defending everyone against the threat, but things took another sharp turn when Finn got knocked out by some Pinochle guys.
