Recap
Over dinner, none of the ladies seemed to be enjoying any of their three wine glasses. Dr Heavenly believed Quad to be a user, and Quad believed Heavenly to be deceitful. Dr. Simone wanted Quad to hang out outside of events, and Dr. Jackie wanted her to be responsible.
Rather than take responsibility for anything, Quad answered every assertion with how the group made her feel. Quad got grilled, Sweet Tea said, so she might as well have been a pig on the table with an apple in her mouth. After supper, the OGs and Phaedra decided to call a quorum to debate Quad further.
Since Quad had not provided them with the answers they were seeking, they had reached a dead end. They seemed to Jackie to be the cousins that Quad wished no one to see. She went on, “You might have a problem when the negative traits start to outweigh the positives.”
Then Toya contacted Quad and invited her to come talk with them in their room. It was almost like a Mean Girls scene when Quad entered Toya’s room, and everyone raised their hands to indicate if they had been harmed by Quad Webb.
Simone asked Quad to leave the trip after telling her that she could no longer sit at the lunch table with them. Quad was taken aback because she had assumed that the resurrection event had resolved every problem. As we transitioned to a flashback of Quad fighting with everyone, the ladies’ mouths dropped open.
Simone said rather frankly that her attempt to make amends at the resurrection had been a complete disaster. Quad then requested that everyone acknowledge the extent of the harm that was done to her even after they acknowledged that Quad refused to acknowledge her role.
Bidding Quad farewell, Phaedra reassured her they were OK. Quad still couldn’t believe what had transpired the following morning. Heavenly shocked her the most because she was the group’s closest friend. Nevertheless, she was eager to speak with each of them when they returned to Atlanta.
And with that, Quad shut the door firmly. When Jackie met Vice President Kamala Harris, she was dressed to impress in a jacket and pearls. They spoke over FaceTime about the current state of maternal health in America and potential solutions.
They are currently campaigning for states to allow postpartum care and to increase Medicaid coverage. Reminding mothers that they are loved and not alone is their aim.
