Murder is Easy was released on BBC One, Britbox, and iPlayer in January 2023. It is based on a novel of the same name by Agatha Christie. The novel was released in 1939.
Fitzwilliam, played by David Johnson, has just reached England from Nigeria to start his new life. He meets Miss Pinkerton, played by Penelope Wilton, who leads him to start investigating murders in the quiet village.

Sorn Castle, Sorn, Ayrshire, Scotly, UK
This castle is an event place in Scotland and is located on the Rive Aire’s bank outside the Soran village in East Ayrshire.
The castle has an old tower house, which was redone in the Scots Baronial style in 1960 by David Bryce.
Tyninghame, East Lothian
Tyninghame was liked by the production crew as it created Wychwood-Under-Ashe. The crew went to the village in July and transformed it into a 1950s setting.
Paisley, Renfrewshire
Some of the scenes were filmed in Paisley, and this time, the town center was transformed into a 1950s setting. Classic cars were also used to give it a more 1950s look.

Steam Train
The steam train scenes of the series were shot in a 55189 steam locomotive. It was made for Caledonian Railways in 1907, and in the timeline when the BritBox drama was set, the suburban railway lines were still getting ready.
It has been looked at and preserved by the Scottish Railway Preservation Society. The train in Murder is Easy traveled from Bo’ness to Bluebill Railway, a.k.a. Downtown Abbey location and others in between.
