‘Call of Midwife,’ which is loved by TV viewers, has been bought back for this Christmas Day on BBC One due to public demand. Helen George is one of the beloved characters of the TV viewers of “Call of Midwife” for her role as Trixie Franklin.
There has been news that Trixie, who went through battles of ups and downs on the show, is about to leave the show by the end of the upcoming series. As reported by The Sun, Trixie’s on-screen new husband, Mathew Aylward, played by Olly Rix, has already been written out.
Helen George relates to her role in ‘Call the Midwife.’
Helen, who has played the role of Trixie in “Call the Midwife,” has been quite unlucky in love. Like the character she played, Helen, in her real life, has also faced some turmoil in her romantic life. Last year, Helen split ways from her husband and father of her two daughters, Jack Ashton.
Ashton is also a former co-star of Helen, who played the role of Rev. Tom Hereward. This news came out when Helen shared a statement in July, where she said, “Some months ago, we separated. Our two beautiful girls remain the focus, and I respectfully ask for privacy for this next chapter.”
Previously, Helen got married to actor Oliver Boot in 2011, but their marriage couldn’t last more than 3 years, and they got divorced in 2015. After her first divorce, she said that going through a divorce is awful. She was also asked to do Strictly, on which she said, “I thought it would be like a sort of therapy after my divorce. I’d spoken to quite a few people who said how it really helped them through difficult times.”
Further, the actress shared that she is focused on this one thing and that it’s an emotional journey. Helene also said, “I was so naive that I thought no one would be interested in me, so that was a shock. I soon realized I didn’t want all that celebrity stuff,” Helen shared while explaining her emotional journey after the “awful divorce.”
Is Helen George dating anyone?
Helen is going to be seen starring in an upcoming production of “The King & I.” In a recent interview with ‘The Times, ’ she shared about her character in the production, saying, “She has to make this work. And it’s something that I have lived through. I am a single mother who has to be financially responsible for both of my children.”
Helen also clarified that, at the moment, there’s no man in her life, and there’s no man in Anna’s life either. She finds it a perfect match for her, especially now. After getting divorced from Oliver, she got married to Jack Ashton in 2016. They both share two daughters, but months ago, they parted ways.
The Sun has reported that recently Helen was spotted together with her on-screen husband Rix. Sources say that Rix broke up earlier this year with her girlfriend, Natasha Fagri, a makeup artist who he had been living with for seven years.
The ‘Call of Midwife’ Christmas Special of this year will bring the action that took place in 1968. The BBC has given some bleaks for the episode, according to which the episode begins two weeks before Christmas with Apollo 8 poised to circle the moon.
Further in the episode, Sister Monica Joan is convinced that this could be her last Yuletide and decides she’ll not live to see a man walk on the moon. Also, the Nonnatus family, including Trixie’s brother Geoffrey, decides something must be done to try to lighten her state of mind.
Helen also shared some bleaks of the upcoming special with Manchester Evening News, where she said, “It’s lovely that Call the Midwife has become part of the TV menu.’
This is Matthew and Trixie’s first Christmas together with Jonty as a family following their wedding, so it’s special as they are really coming together as a unit. Trixie’s brother is back, too, and it was so much fun to continue that story. Christmas and Geoffrey just go together really well!”
