The singer and The Dukes of Hazzard actor, John Schneider will be celebrating an unpleasant Christmas this year. He opened upon marking his first ever Christmas after the death of his wife. Alicia Allain Schneider passed away in February after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
During an interview with Fox News Channel, the actor expressed his grief and said that he will be spending Christmas with his in-laws and daughter, Jessica.
Even though the family is supporting and encouraging him, he is anticipating that this year festive season would be really hard and challenging time for him.
In the interview, he talks about the grief that he has after the death of his life partner. He said that it will be a really tough time and is going to be rough.
He continued by saying
Grief is a funny thing. Grief will sneak up on you and smack you in the back of the head. Truly, when you least expect it. But usually right as you’re having a great time. It’s almost like grief says, ‘No, no, no, no, no. You’re not going to smile today. You’re not going to laugh today.
He also added that he is learning to cope with sorrow and dejection in life. He has never wanted to learn such lessons or coping with a pain is not a skill that he would want to possess ever.
But life has given him a chance to make things right and move on and he is making best out of it.
Schneider plans to celebrate Christmas with daughter.
Festive season always bring joy and happiness , but for those who have lost the most important part of their life may find it difficult to find happiness. This years Christmas is not going to be very joyful for Schneider and family after the demise of his better half.
He married Alicia Allain in 2019 and does not have a child with her. He has a daughter with his ex wife Elvira named Leah and also adopted her three children from her previous marriages. Alicia had a daughter, Jessica with her ex husband Patrick Dollard.
Schneider told Fox News Digital that he and Alicia’s parents will be celebrating this Christmas with Alicia’s daughter Jessica and her husband Daniel Turner at their home in Nashville, Tennessee. He said that they are also planning to honor Alicia’s memory during this Christmas.
We’re going to spend all that time together, which is probably what we would have done if Alicia were here. We’re going to celebrate her. We’re going to miss her. But it’s hard. It’s very hard. We’re going to celebrate such a wonderful, wonderful life and such a force in all of our lives.
He explained that spending Christmas with his in-laws and Jessica is like continuing the same traditions that he shared with Alicia. He also hinted about his grandchild as Jessica is currently pregnant and her child will be born in May.
However , he admitted that it is really hard for him to cope with the loss of his wife. He also says that he is never ready to do anything in her absence.
After his wives death , he has started helping more people. He said that
He has found that helping other people, talking to other people who have experienced loss is a great, great way to strengthen yourself. It’s a great way to get a grip on yourself. So he do that as often as possible, and also encourage people to do the same.
He has also connected with the late actor Paul Sorvino’s wife Dee Dee Sorvino and she has inspired him to create Revenuer’s Reserve Premium Moonshine. He and Sorvino has also launched a wine brand called Sorvino Vino in March.
Even though he will not be able to cope up the grief , he is trying hard to find happiness with his family.
