The last chapter was pretty cute, with Lord Birta trying to bribe our little Saintess with snacks so that she would like him. We can tell that he was jealous of Reuter, who the Saintess claimed to like more than him. It was his cute sense of rivalry and perhaps jealousy that made him want to act kinder to the little girl.

Recap
In the previous chapter of The Cute Little Saintess, the little Saintess gets very upset when Roy tells her that Aman actually ate all her chocolate bread, so she can only have one now. She was really looking forward to having lots of chocolate bread, so the news made her really upset, and she even started crying loudly.
When Lord Birta came, he was shocked to see the Saintess crying so much, and Roy told him that she was sad because he ate all the bread. Aman goes out and calms her down by bringing more of the snacks she wants. He then asks her if she likes him or Roy more.
He asks if the two are enjoying spending time together, but the saintess freezes up when she sees him. She remembers him being there when Veronica kicked her out, and he was the one who held her back from going after Veronica, saying she couldn’t do that now since she was a Saintess.
The memory is not exactly pleasant for her, and she choked on the bread she was eating. The two get concerned, and the High Priest Silva asks Aman to go fetch some water while he looks after the Saintess. She does not want Aman to go, but he has no way of knowing that and leaves instantly.
The High Priest asks her if she is scared of him, and it makes her feel quite awkward. However, his words and actions were actually very kind, contrary to what she believed, which made her feel better. The High Priest asks her if she wants something, and she says that she wants to give fresh bread to the kids back on the streets.
