The most awaited Television series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians has premiered on Disney+. The first two episodes of the season were released on 20 December 2023. The series was created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg based on the novel of the same name by Riordan.
The novel was one of the best sellers in those times, and people have been waiting to see the young Percy Jackson on screen. Walker Scobell plays the role of the undefeated Percy Jackson, and as per the reviews, he has done pure justice to his character.
It is the story of a young and ordinary teenager who later finds out that he is the son of the Greek God, Poseidon. The series features Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Glynn Turman, and many more.
The story revolves around young Percy, who finds out that he is the son of Poseidon and a demigod. He will be able to control water, start hurricanes, and talk to fishes. He also becomes an accomplished sword fighter and warrior.
The trio of Percy, Annabeth, and Grover has worked well in the movie. In the movie, Percy is sarcastically humorous, Annabeth is shown as a headstrong girl who is loyal to the point of hostility, and Grover is the lovable peacemaker of the three.
Two of the other series related to Percy Jackson are Percy Jackson – The Lightning Thief, and Percy Jackson – Sea of Monsters.
Percy Jackson star thinks that Percy is capable of beating Harry Potter
Ahead of the arrival of the series in Disney+, Scobell, in an interaction, said that it is very difficult or impossible for anyone to beat Percy Jackson.
During a live episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the host asked Scobell, who plays the character of Percy Jackson and is also a great fan of the series that, ‘Does it mean he would be the last man standing in a fight with Harry Potter, the boy wizard who can blast concussive punches from the tip of his wand?’
Scobell answered that it would not be even a fight, and he did not think that Harry Potter would win that.
It wouldn’t be much of a fight, though. It would not be a fight at all, oh my gosh. I don’t know how you could say Harry Potter would win that.
The 12 year old was so sure in his statement and said that Percy Jackson would defeat Harry Potter in no time. Now the fans can debate on the topic, of whether Harry Potter or Percy Jackson would win a fight between them.
Walker Scobell would like to meet Logan Lerman
It is not the first time the novel has been adapted. It has been adapted into movies in the past two times. But somehow, it did not meet the expectations of the viewers at that time. Many viewers commented that the movie did not keep up with the expectations that they had of the novel.
But this time, Riordan has a perfect cast for the role of Percy Jackson and his friends. In the Percy Jackson – The Lighting Thief, it was Logan Lerman who played the character of Percy Jackson. Even though he has played his character very well, the movie was not a great hit.
Walker Scobell said in an interview with The New York Post that he would love to meet Logan Lerman. Also, he would love to hear Logan’s take on the movie.
Lerman left Scobell a message of support and encouragement as Scobell starts his journey down the hard road of embodying a character so beloved by fans.
