More About Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku
Gabimaru the Hollow finds his elite assassin skills lacking when fate deals him a cruel hand-capture and sees the once-feared reaper now awaiting his own appointment with the executioner’s blade.
But each attempt to reap this grim harvest fails, for Gabimaru’s body boasts durability bordering on the supernatural.
The mystified Master Swordsman Yamada Asaemon Sagiri suspects something unconscious yet profound drives Gabimaru’s refusal to die – devotion to the wife who alone unlocked the humanity within this hollow man.
Thus Sagiri offers a demon’s bargain: locate the fabled Elixir of Immortality, rumored to exist upon the recently emerged isle “Shinsekai” – a land that’s already claimed five expeditions. Do so, and Gabimaru’s crimes warranting death shall be pardoned.
Knowing more will perish seeking this truth; the Shogunate dispatches another crew of condemned criminals, each bound to an Asaemon overseer to ensure they return with proof or never return at all. For love’s sake, Gabimaru joins this suicide squad voyage, with Sagiri at his side.
