With each day bringing the crew several ounces of gold, Parker, Tony, and Rick get closer to achieving their target for this season. Despite the machine breakdowns and the burning wires, these gold miners are willing to go to any lengths to keep their gold hunt steady.
Discovery’s Gold Rush is a reality series that showcases the mining efforts of various family-run companies. The Klondike region is known for its high concentration of gold ores that have been deposited there over hundreds of years. The companies we see are placer gold miners, who mine gold from stream beds.
Besides Canada, places like South America and North America have also been the locations where these Discovery show companies have tried their placer gold mining efforts. For the 14th season of Gold Rush, the only returning crew members are Tony Beets, Parker Schnabel, and Rick Ness.
Recap
Parker has so far found only 1274 ounces of gold, which is way too low for his goal of 5000 ounces. Opening the Dominion Creek wasn’t an easy task for Parker, and the success of this season depended on the amount of gold ounces mined from this creek.
The Big Red arrives at the Money Pit and the washer has to be moved away to make some space. Mitch arrives with his bulldozer and takes the wash pant where it belongs. The Ness Crew at Duncan Creek has been making steady progress, but they’ve only managed to collect around 200 ounces of gold.
Meeting his 1000-ounce target was going to be a tough job for everyone, especially since the area where he’s been mining gold has barely been giving any gold. Leaving his crew at Bacon Strip and working on the Duncan Creek area on his own was Rick’s way to trying to make a comeback into the gold mining world.
Buzz was one of the newcomers on Rick’s team, but despite the lack of experience, Buzz proved himself by working as a skilled foreman. The rest of the crew started smelling burning wires from their generator, putting a temporary halt on their gold mining process.
The king of Klondike, Tony Beets is hoping to get a sluicer on his new wash plant pad at Paradise Hill. While the chaotic start was only able to get him 343 ounces of gold, Beets is hopeful that he’ll be able to make it to 6,000 ounces on time even if they initially had a setback.
Tony’s daughter, Monica, is working alone at the shaker deck and keeping it running smoothly. Monica later has to shut the plant down after a worker notices screens coming out of the plant.
A large rock could have been responsible for this damage, so the crew decided to place a metal sheet over the holes to keep the machine running. Each of the teams continued to work on their lands despite the setbacks.
