Mistletoe Connection is a romantic drama movie written by Marie D. Jones and Dianna Ippolito and directed by David I. Strasser. The cast includes Kurt Ostlund, Jessica Sipos, Markian Tarasiuk, and others.
The filming of the movie began in July 2013 and was completed in the same month. In this article, we will talk about the filming location of this Christmas-based film.
We have seen Jessica Sipos in movies like Mistletoe Magic, A Daughter’s Revenge, A Season for Family, Dark Harbor, and Goliath. On the other hand, Markian Tarasiuk has been in movies such as Welcome to Valentine, Why Can’t My Life Be a Rom-Com?, Christmas Jars, Christmas at the Golden Dragon, Wedding Cake Dreams, and A Homecoming for the Holidays, he has been seen in many Christmas holidays themed movies.
Synopsis
The movie revolves around Kate Snow, a shop owner who loves Christmas. Mark Goodwin is a businessman and loves the holiday season.
Their accidental meet-up sparks the love, and their romance-filled journey begins in the magical aura of holidays and Christmas. It is the story that shows the flavors of holidays and reminds the audience to enjoy the holidays with friends and family.
The cast of the movie is ideal; Kate is a balanced character, and Mark is humble. Their on-screen chemistry is obvious. Other than the main leads, the side characters are also well-thought-out and represented. The bond between Paul and Josie feels realistic and sweet.
We saw Jessica in Chesapeake Shores here, and she plays Kate. Mistletoe Connection is UPTV’s best Christmas flick. The previous UPTV movie was Mistletoe Magic, which starred Stephen Huszar. They wanted a more refined movie, so they made Mistletoe Connection with Jessica in it.
The story of the movie is not new. Kate’s old gift store is getting razed because of a new development, and she falls in with the businessman, Mark, who is in charge of the development.
The concept is conventional, but the cast and screenplay make the script work. Both of the scenes in which the leads start together are nicely done. The acting blended with the music and costumes, feels, and hits the right tones. They even mentioned Boxing Day, which is very rare in North American movies.
Where was Mistletoe Connection filmed?
The filming of the original UPTV movie was mostly done in British Columbia, especially around Vancouver and Maple Ridge. For more than a decade, Canada has been playing a major role in the filming of numerous movies and TV shows, which makes Canada a famous tourist destination.
It is a sweet spot for filming many movies and a favorable spot for filmmakers because of the vibe and scenery it provides to the scenes of the movie.
Vancouver, British Columbia
Vancouver was used to film Mistletoe Connection. The film crew, along with the cast, went to the locations to shoot the movie. Vancouver is famous for its vibrant culture and colors.
The city is also a place for many international festivals like the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, and others. Because of all these attractions, it has become an ideal place for filming shows and movies.
Maple Ridge Canada
Other than Vancouver, Maple Ridge is another location where the movie was shot. It is in the northeastern part of Vancouver Area, Vancouver.
The filming crew filmed many scenes around Maple Ridge. The ridge is well known for its natural beauty, with many landscapes, rivers, forests, and mountains. Golden Ears Provincial Park and Alouette Lake are the most popular places.
Filming was done in the summer
To release the movie on Christmas, the filmmakers have to shoot the movie 2–3 months before winter. Jessica Sipos and Markian Tarasiuk, the stars of the movie, talked about their timing on the movie set.
Markia said it was about ninety-five degrees, and they had been on an older bus without AC. All the windows were closed because it was a scene of winter. She was scared that she’d be sweaty for the opening of the movie.
