As we saw in the last chapter, Hana and Eunseong were completely stuck in an elevator of a crumbling building with the oxygen running out. It probably felt like it was the end for the both of them so Eunseong decided to tell Hana about his past and maybe earnestly confess how he felt about her.
However, as per the obvious cliche, something happens the moment Hana is about to respond and Guilio appears after breaking the elevator door. The two hug and cry in joy since they both were alive but it pretty much crushes Eunseong’s spirit. We will see what happens next in The Dilettante Chapter 45.
We already knew that Eunseong was a dangerous guy from the beginning of the manhwa because a lot of things really didn’t make sense when it came to him. No one is really convinced that Eunseong’s somewhat sad past can justify the things he has pulled currently but it did incite somewhat of a sympathetic response.
Not only from us as the readers but also from Hana who did feel a bit moved by his sincerity. But of course, it is the fate of the second male lead to forever suffer in the first male lead’s shadow and their moment is completely overshadowed when Guilio comes crashing in to save Hana.
Of course it had to be a love triangle situation which can get a little frustrating at times but Hana ends up choosing Guilio, who we assume will be the endgame for Hana.

Recap
In the previous chapter of The Dilettante, Hana and Eunseong had a pretty intense scene going on where Eunseong was acting like a complete deranged obsessive freak and Hana was just trying to get away from him. Well, the bombs certainly did the job because the building was crumbling all over the two of them.
They run into an elevator which closes up so now they don’t have enough oxygen either. It was certainly a life death situation for them so Eunseong decided to open up about his past and tells Hana the story about what happened to him which led him here.
He gets involved in drug trade, most probably to earn money and support himself. He says that it was when he meets Muho Kang, the guy who completely altered his life. Eunseong was going to bury his life as Mujin Kang if things went well but Hana messed up all his plans.
In a vulnerable moment, Eunseong asks Hana if she ever considered choosing him even for a second when the elevator starts rumbling and shaking, right when she was about to answer. The elevator finally settles and Guilio finally appears as he breaks down the elevator door to let Hana out.
Hana jumps at him in joy and our poor second male lead can’t do anything but watch his love choose Guilio all over again. Hana ends up passing out from all the exhaustion and Guilio carries her out in his arms. However, he gets cornered by a bunch of army people the moment he steps out.
