NFL fans have yet another season of Hard Knocks to look forward to. This time, the team in focus is the skilled Miami Dolphins, led by head coach Mike McDaniel. Players, coaches, coordinators and other staff of the NFL will be making an appearance on the series.
An intriguing collaboration of HBO and the NFL, Hard Knocks is a reality documentary sort of series that follows any one of the NFL teams as they show up at training camps and prepare for the next season. Each episode is filled with various behind-the-scenes conversations that show just how a team communicates to get the best possible result in every game.
Hard Knocks first started in 2001 with the Baltimore Ravens as the center of their documentary. Many great teams have shown up since, like the Oakland Raiders, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, and recently, New York Jets.
Hard Knocks has chosen the team that’s known for its great players, the Miami Dolphins, for its 21st season. To see the team be featured on one of sports’ first-ever reality series would be entertaining, especially since there’s little known about the players’ & coaches’ lives outside of football.
Recap
Episode 1 of Hard Knocks started in the best way possible, with an ambitious and motivating speech by head coach Mike McDaniel. The teams are told to not let the documentary interfere with their performance, and instead take it as a chance to showcase the best of their abilities.
Mike reveals that they’ll only be having 47 days, 24 practices, and 8 games to utilize. If the players wanted to move forward in their games, they’d be showing up for each of these games. Coach Mike doesn’t force anyone but states facts in a way that makes players want to listen to what he has to say.
Coming back to the games, we are introduced to Tyreek Hill, one of the fastest in the game. Tyreek had recently gotten married to his fiancé, making him much more excited and motivated for every game.
Hard Knocks also shows us a glimpse of Hill’s life, where he is seen spending as much as time possible with his family and wife. The hills spend their time talking about business and investment opportunities when they’re not in the field.
QB Tua Tagovailoa gets a new haircut and is said that he resembles Drake. Everyone gathers up to talk about a new player that they must watch out for, Maxx Crosby. Belonging to the Las Vegas Raiders, Crosby had a unique way of making sure that he’d have the upper hand.
Mike wanted the Dolphins to prepare themselves for his strategy, which was usually shoving players or nudging them to make them lose patience during the game. The Miami Dolphins offensive line then heads over for dinner at Takato.
Robert Hunt, Kendall Lamm, and the others talk about playing against Crosby. With the top speeds recorded this season belonging mostly to the Miami Dolphins, the team was heading towards a bright future and Coach Mike wants to make sure that it happens without any setbacks.
