Jujutsu Kaisen has taken over the whole internet after its season 2 episodes 16 & 17. The episode is so good that fans are even calling it the episode of the year, and both episodes have been rated 9.8 on Imbd as of today.
The anime has been going way too well since the Shibuya arc started. We have been getting action sequences back to back. However, when will it last? If you have been following the news lately, you might have gotten a glimpse of the situation in which Mappa is right now.
In the past few weeks, animators who are working for Mappa are coming out to speak about their working conditions. Some of them have even left Mappa and committed to never work for them. Some even have a mental breakdown on Twitter after the workload given by Mappa.
You are getting the big picture about the condition in which Mappa is right now. So, if Mappa wouldn’t even have animators to work on, how would it complete Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Might get Delayed or Cancelled!
You might wonder how it will affect Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 since the anime has already launched. So, let me tell you that the anime that has started airing is not completely animated when it’s released.
The episodes are still being worked on till one hour before the airing time. Just recently, it was said that episode 17 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 was only animated 30% of how it was imagined to be animated and that it had been worked on till the last hour.
So, if this continues, this might lead to Jujutsu Kiasen Season 2 getting delayed or canceled. We also have an example of the same situation here, Zom 100. This anime was getting delayed so much because of the production issue that the studio had to put it on hiatus and reschedule its last three episodes after two months.
The same thing is going on with Jujutsu Kaisen here. Mappa is barely meeting deadlines while maintaining its quality. Even though the production for episodes 16 & 17 was rushed, these episodes are still the best-animated episodes of Jujustu Kaisen.
So, just imagine how this episode would have looked when they were have been animated 100%. It would surely be the best-animated episode of not just Jujutsu Kaisen but the entire anima industry.
However, Mappa missed this rare chase, which I think would only come when we get to see Gojo vs Sukuna. However, that will almost take 4-6 years to adapt.
Why Jujutsu Kiasen Season 2 WON’T Get Delayed? How can Mappa fix its issues?
So there are many reasons why Jujutsu Kiasen Season 2. The first one is because it won’t get a slot to re-air. If you don’t know, Japan has four major seasons, and based on those seasons, the airing schedule is given to an anime.
So, if they missed that slot, they would have to wait another slot. So, Jujutsu Kiasen Season 2 was given two seasons of time, Summer and Fall. According to this schedule, it should end in December, which it is going to if everything goes well.
And if it doesn’t end at that time, they would have to look for an empty slot for airing their remaining episodes, which will most likely be in March. So, even if one episode gets delayed, it will be delayed till March.
That’s why Mappa has to rush things up so this doesn’t happen. And the second factor is that Mappa isn’t the one who is managing all this. All this is being managed by the producers, Toho and Shueisha.
Toho and Shueisha might have given Mappa a good amount of time to work on Jujutsu Kaisen 2, but Mappa was so busy animating different shows like Attack on Titan and Hell Paradise that it didn’t get enough time to work on Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2,
All Mappa can do for now is hire more animators to complete its animation in time. Mappa has to invest everything it has, or its company name will be ruined if Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 gets delayed (which already has been ruined).
