Mikoto told Yuuma Minato initially thought Uta was a boy because of her haircut in the previous episode. Viewers are excited to find out about the sibling’s dynamics in Yuzuki-san Chi no Yon Kyoudai: The Youth Story of a Family, Episode 8.
Yuuma told Mikoto that he believed that boys and girls usually stopped hanging out with each other after passing elementary school.
But after seeing Minato and Uta, he had to change his opinion. Yuuma was wondering if the two of them had always been together like that.
Mikoto told him that was not always the case; Uta’s family moved across their house just after the Yuzuki siblings lost their parents.
It was during the summer when Hayato suggested to the kids that they should go and get to know the kids across their house because they were of the same age as the Yuzuki siblings.
Hayato was hoping that they could become friends with those kids, but Mikoto realized that there was going to be a new student in his class after the summer break.
He was wondering if the kids moved next door because of their father’s work. Minato made it clear that he did not need new friends.
However, Hayato wanted Minato to get along with them. Hayato believed that moving to a new city and not knowing anyone could be scary.
All of the siblings tried hard to hide the pain of losing their parents. But Hayato noticed at night that Minato had been crying himself to sleep.
The next day, Yuzuki’s siblings went to a house across the street to greet them with a present. Saki introduced herself as Mr. Kojiro’s daughter.
Saki introduced her kids to Yuzuki’s siblings. Saki told the Yuzuki siblings that her oldest daughter, Uta, was in the fourth grade.
Recap
Hayato told Saki Mikoto and Minato were around the same age as her. Uta told them she did not need friends and was very hostile toward them.
Saki had to apologize to them because of her misbehavior. During the dinner, Mikoto told Hayato he could not imagine himself being friends with that kid.
Meanwhile, Minato changed his previous opinion and was quite excited to become Uta’s friend. Mikoto informed Hayato that’s because Uta said the words from Minato’s favorite manga character.
Mikoto believed that Minato looked up to that character. Gakuto also thought he wanted to become friends with Waka.
Because he seemed like a gentle and nice kid, he made plans to play together with Gakuto. When Minato went to Uta’s house the next day, Uta told him to get lost.
But Minato was determined to tell her all about the city. Minato kept pestering Uta every single day. One day, Mikoto had to tell Minato that he could always hang out with him since they were of the same age.
If Uta did not become his friend, Uta told Minato she was not planning to stay in the city for a long time. So she had no reason to become friends with him.
Uta argued with Saki at night. Because Waka wanted to meet his father, the next morning, Saki had a chat with Hayato about the kids.
Hayato invited her over for some cookies, and Saki loved the cookies. Hayato told her he wanted to bring over some cookies for Uta and Waka.
She mentioned that Uta would have loved the cookies if she were still her old self. Saki told Hayato she still had not told the kids why she divorced her ex-husband. It was because he kept having affairs, and she could not explain it to the kids.
