The power couple that everyone followed for the start of their relationship might not be together any longer, but drama surely continues to surround the two with the reason behind their divorces and the involvement of restraining orders against each other.
Initially, fans were left wondering what exactly went wrong between the once beautiful couple, but after following the lives of the two through the reality television series “The Chantel Family,” it was no longer doubtful for them as they witnessed the couple’s downward spiral together.
Released on July 22, 2019, following the appearance of Pedro and Chantel on the reality series titled “90 Days Fiance,” the reality series “The Chantel Family” continued to document the couple’s journey together.
Well, even after the lovely couple divorced each other, the reality series is ready to come back with a bang this fall season to entertain its viewers with its final season following the journey of the couple after the two went separate ways following Pedro cheating on Chantel.
Out of the plethora of reality series following the family lives of celebrities, The Chantel Family is one of the most watched series of all time, as people felt a connection with Pedro and Chantel after watching the pair fall head over heels while on a dating cum wedding reality series titled “90 Days Fiance”.
TLC released a reality series with Chantel Everett, Pedro Jimeno, Karen Everett, Riverknight Everett, Winter Everett, Thomas Everett, Nicole Jimeno, Royal Everett, and Angenette Wylie in the lead.
The popular reality series has five seasons that focus solely on The Chantel Family, featuring once a power couple, Pedro and Chantel, now in shambles after they protected their respective families instead of their relationship because, by the end of the fourth season, the two have separated as they both blamed each other’s family for their involvement in their marriage instead of being together and protecting each other.
Pedro and Chantel initially met through a mutual friend after Chantel visited the Dominican Republic, as she had an interest in learning the Spanish language. As everyone knows, falling in love is easy, but being in love isn’t, and that’s what happened with Pedro and Chantel, as the once-loved couple are no longer together.
Over time, things became extremely complicated between the pair because of their families seeking fame through them and Pedro accusing the Chantel family, especially her mother, of brainwashing Chantel and poisoning her against Pedro and his family, thus leading to the end of their relationship.
Is the Chantel family scripted?
Well, there isn’t one reality series that fans haven’t suspected to be scripted, and “The Chantel Family” isn’t an exception to that, as the fans believe that the reality series is one of the fakest, but how much of it is true?
To answer everyone’s most-awaited question, “Is The Chantel Family Scripted”, the answer is yes and no, meaning there are parts of the reality series that are scripted and under the production’s control to create drama in order to generate revenue, but most of it is still a reality of the couple’s life.
One of the biggest reasons behind fans questioning the authenticity of the series was Pedro reaching out to his estranged father in the third season, claiming that he knows nothing about his father’s new family, but later pictures of Pedro with his dad’s new family resurfaced on the Instagram page of his sisters-in-law.
Pedro’s dad abandoned his family, comprising Nicole and Pedro, when they were young to make a new family that comprised a son with the same name as Pedro’s, but things became complicated after Pedro claimed he had no information on his father’s family. Several movies, like “True Crime Jankie,” exposed Pedro’s lie, stating Pedro had met his father’s new family outside of the series and shared their pictures from before as proof.
Deavan Clegg, a cast member of the reality series, later opened up about her experience on the series, stating that she and her ex-husband faked several scenes of the reality series because of her having medical bills to pay and Jihoon having debts to pay.
Deavan further stated that she never shared a bed with her ex-husband, but the two faked it for the reality series because the two weren’t sure if the production would pay them if they opened up about their struggles while on the show. Fans also suspect that Winter is lying about meeting a man from Nigeria and falling in love with him after her previous relationship with Jah ended on the reality series.
Fans have accused Chantel and Pedro of faking their love after separation so the reality series can continue capturing their over-explosive drama and the pair can continue crashing on it, while another viewer stated Pedro faked his love for Chantel all along as he and his mother wanted to stay in the U.S.A., and now that he has gotten the green card, he no longer needs Chantel. Thus he is divorcing her.
Viewers have felt the couple has terrible acting skills, as every scene the two are in together ends up looking like a badly scripted part of the series that the two play out to make bucks under the production’s instruction.
So overall, even though the fans believe the series is scripted, it isn’t the parts of the series that are scripted to gain viewers’ attention and generate revenue from it, as everyone loves the drama that Pedro and Chantel bring to the show.
