Recap
In “Keeping Her Alive,” Fear the Walking Dead makes a return to PADRE, where Victor Strand’s group combines with the more established locals. While the battle for the island rages on, people try to carry on with their lives as usual; nevertheless, conflicting moral philosophies arise from competing strategies.
June, Sherry, Dwight, and Dove debate about holding Tracy Otto imprisoned on the island after returning from Virginia. Strand thinks Troy will have more motivation to refrain from attacking the town if she stays there. Strand says Troy is a sociopath on a vengeance tour, but he could be ready to drop that for his daughter.
That Madison and Strand brought their conflict with Troy into their own house infuriated many already. The easiest way for June and the others to demonstrate that Tracy has no problem with them is to give him back. June and the others are capturing strays in this conflict.
When June and Strand admit one other’s errors and Strand exposes June’s hypocrisy, things get ugly. In this instance, June, like Strand, had already assumed a different identity to flee her history. His attempt to persuade them that he has changed drastically backfires.
Tracy and Strand are transported back to Troy via boat. Troy would finally return if they turned over the man who abducted his daughter, according to the theory. However, Strand, the man with the plan, always has a way out: he removes Tracy’s blindfold and reveals PADRE’s position to her.
She could reveal PADRE’s position to Troy, therefore there’s no way she can be brought back at this point. Strand and Tracy jump overboard, cutting the boat’s power. Strand finds Tracy wearing the identical necklace he gave Alicia many years ago after saving her from walkers, though it’s still unclear how Tracy obtained the necklace.
Presuming Troy is telling the truth, he leads her to Madison, who is going on a rampage, murdering walkers, so Tracy can show her where Alicia’s zombie-like body lies. Madison will do all it takes to ensure that Alicia is laid to rest. Tracy believes her father is a perfect saviour who will save humanity.
Since he has been feeding her lies her entire life, no one can hold the child responsible. Tracy’s claim that Madison killed her mother is the final nail in the coffin, but once more, nobody knows for sure who her mother is.
