Netflix surprised fans on Geeked Week’s Thursday (9 November) Showcase by dropping a small teaser for the much-awaited Season 2 of the animated steampunk action-adventure television series Arcane, thus confirming its release in November 2024.
The 15-second teaser shows the protagonist Jinx, characterized by her long blue locks of hair, shock pistol “Zapper” and rocket launcher “Fishbones”, walking through the Bridge of Progress. The crimson fog engulfing her and the bridge creates a very similar scene to that of the beginning of Season 1.
Set in the universe of Riot Games’ famous MOBA game League of Legends, the series Arcane was announced first at the LoL 10th anniversary celebration in 2019, and first released in November 2021. Amongst its huge cast of characters, Hailee Steinfeld became the voice of Vi, while Ella Purnell took the role of Jinx.
With the release of its 1st season, the 9 episodes instantly won the hearts of its audience due to its immersive story, jaw-dropping visuals and its tastefully written nature which allowed even casual viewers, who haven’t played the game, to still enjoy the Netflix series, while hardcore fans were treated with several in-game references.
Arcane Season 1 Synopsis (Spoiler free)
The series follows the famous League of Legends champions Violet “Vi” and Powder/Jinx, two troubled sisters who are raised by their adoptive father Vander in a black market area called The Lanes. One with great physical prowess, and the other with an affinity for invention, they grow up to find themselves on the opposite sides of conflict.
Set in the fictional world of Runeterra, a realm where magic is a natural gift and science an intellectual achievement, Arcane presents its plot under a rising political conflict between the rich, utopian city of Piltover and its oppressed undercity of Zaun.
Mad scientists and intelligent scholars alike race to invent ways of harnessing the power of Arcane, the magic that ties the world together, while heaps of dead bodies lie in their wake, so they can achieve their own selfish goals.

The first official teaser for Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender adaptation is finally here, featuring teen actor Gordon Cormier as the protagonist Aang, Kiawentiio as the waterbender Katara and Ian Ousley as her brother Sokka, traveling through the magnificently portrayed elemental kingdoms.
Fans of the franchise would also recognize Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as General Iroh, Zuko’s uncle and mentor, presented within the fiery and dark lands of the Fire Nation. The live action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho, the famous Japanese manga series by Yoshihiro Togashi, also received its first official teaser on Geeked Week, along with the release date of 14 December.
The trailer shows a teenage delinquent named Yusuke Urameshi, portrayed by actor Takumi Kitamura, who in an uncharacteristic act of heroism, dies trying to save a child from a car crash. Koenma, son of the Ruler of the Underworld, revives Yusuke, but only on the condition that he must become an “Underworld Detective”, who solves various cases involving demons and apparitions in the Human World.
Netflix also shared an official announcement for the final season of The Umbrella Academy, revealed a brand-new animated spinoff movie called The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, unveiled famous actress Michelle Yeoh’s new role in the official teaser for the dark action-comedy series The Brothers Sun and much more.
