Maya comes, and we jump straight into the challenge. Basically, it is the regular challenges that we’re used to, except it’s three times the effort.
So the first pair and Curtis and Justine. She had a really tough time with the challenge, and it was looking kind of rough. And then the kiss with Curtis was all right. She was feeling it. But I think he was just appeasing her, and I don’t know if he was into it like that.
Then came Steph and Lisa, who killed the challenge portion. She murdered that thing. Honestly, Lisa is the one to look out for. Next was Cely, who wished to get Toby. However, she ended up getting Jack. She also found Justine’s wig in the heart section part of the challenge.
Imani got Toby, and she impressed a lot of the guys with her performance. Honestly, I would put my money on Imani as well. She just seems very athletic and very competitive. I think she’s going to watch as well.
Jessica was next and was dreading getting partnered up with Callum and then, of course, got partnered up with Callum. They are just friends; they had coupled up once on their season, too, and it didn’t really work out that well, so Yikes.
Then last was Liberty and Ray, she was terrible. She was terrible, he was terrible. He couldn’t even pop these damn balloons. And in the end, when they did their kiss, that was the only thing that they did well. He was going all in on the kiss, and you know it was great.
Recap
Before diving into Love Island Australia Season 5 Episode 8, let’s quickly recap and review the previous episode. So, at the end of the challenge, Maya says that basically, your performance of the challenge determines what happens in this villa.
The first thing the result will determine is the order in which the women are going to pick. So first was Lisa, and she chose to couple up with Curtis. Imani picked Ray, Justine picked Jack, Cely picked Toby, Liberty picked Callum, and last was just who’s paired with Steph.
So, later on in the season, being last is actually going to hurt you. Potentially, being a loser in the challenges could put you at risk of being eliminated. Of course, as we know, the show has already wrapped filming, so there is no public vote like regular Love Island. So yeah, this is purely challenge-based. If you lose, you could be out.
So now that everybody’s coupled up, Lisa is trying to get to know Curtis, and I don’t know if it’s just me or maybe I just wasn’t paying attention to Curtis on his season. I feel like he’s very boring.
I could attribute my lack of board and lack of interest in Curtis because he has a monotone way of speaking. He has a very monotone way of speaking, and I think he was trying to do that thing where the guy speaks in his lower register to entice the woman, maybe. It wasn’t doing it for me, but it was doing Lisa. She was laughing with Curtis.
Now that Ray’s dream has become a reality. He’s getting more comfortable with the idea of Imani being his partner. I’m here for it. They’ve got a lot of synergy going on. They’re both the first to go to university and their family.
They both have that little stud nose piercing, and they have a similar vibe, similar banter, and similar humor. They’re both competitive but looking for love. A lot more happened in previous episodes, but now let’s discuss when Episode 8 of Love Island Australia Season 5 will be released and what will happen in it.
