Attack On Titan is by far one of the most favorite anime of many fans around the globe and it is unfortunate for many of the fans that the series has finally ended in the anime as well. While Attack On Titan has ended, we must remember that every good thing must come to an end and Attack On Titan was among the best of them.
Attack On Titan’s first season started airing back in 2013 and since then the next installments of the series took time to be released especially the final season which saw three different parts in the span of almost four years. Past these 10 years, we also saw the change in the studio and while fans were worried about the change, Mappa studio blew our expectations and this change most likely was for good.
Nevertheless, the day has finally come when Attack On Titas has come to an end and we won’t get to see any new stories of our beloved characters featuring the iconic trio Eren, Mikasa, and Armin. The ending of Attack On Titan is surely complicated leaving many fans whether perplexed about it or the others hating the ending as it wasn’t a good ending.
However, I like to think differently as there is a hidden meaning behind the ending of the Attack On Titan series whether it is in the anime or the manga because there are hardly any differences in them. Thus, we would like to dive deeper into the meaning the Attack On Titan’s ending and explore what it meant. With that being said, here we bring the latest Attack on Titan anime and manga updates.
Attack On Titan Ending Explained
The Attack On Titan final episode began with the Battle of Heaven and Earth which would determine the fate of the world. This battle had to take place as Eren did not leave a space for discussion and made clear that if his friends had to stop the rumbling then there was no choice but to kill him.
Thus, Eren’s former friends arrived to stop Eren for good and the battle between them took place it would have taken a different pace had Armin been allowed to transform from the start to stop Eren. But there was trouble in between and Armin had been taken captive by an Okapi-looking titan not allowing him to transform.
However, in between the others trying to blow up Eren’s neck and the others trying to rescue Armin with the arrival of Armin on the Falco’s flying titan, Armin is going through something else and it is important as it is the sole reason that the rumbling was stopped for good.
Armin’s Meaning of Life Convinces Zeke To Help
This is one of the highlights of the episode as we see Arming having a conversation with Zeke in the paths. Zeke had given up on living but Armin had a different interpretation of how life is. Armin said that he presumed that his life’s meaning was only to run up to the hill and nothing else.
Going further about it, he said that life finds meaning in the smallest of things. This makes Zeke realize that it wouldn’t have been so bad if he were to spend more of his time playing catch with Xavier the former beast titan.
It was the only thing that made him the happiest and even though Zeke’s plan was the best that he thought, he notes that it wouldn’t have been so bad if he were to be born again and play catch.
Thus, Zeke asks for every former titan shifter to turn the tides of the battle for good, and by allowing himself to be killed by Levi, the rumbling stops for good. Meanwhile, Armin ends things for good with his transformation and stops Eren for good.
Why Was Mikasa Able To Change Ymir?
Perhaps one of the most perplexing things about Attack On Titan’s ending was that Mikasa was able to change Ymir, the origin of the Titans for good. This is the most confusing thing and it is even explained in the anime or the manga as to why exactly Mikasa was the one that helped change Ymir but it was important as Eren explained that due to this, the existence of the Titans would come to an end for good.
One of the faults of Attack On Titan I think is that we did not see much about the Ymir’s characters at all. There wasn’t even a single dialogue from her and it was only revealed that she was seeking true love. Even though the King at that time used her for her powers and extended the lines of the Titans, there was nothing else explained about her.
Ymir was in love with the King as he was the only one who perhaps had gotten close to her. On the other hand, Mikasa’s love for Eren was always there, and through the end, Ymir witnessed how true love could be. As Mikasa cut off Eren’s head for good and ended his agony, Ymir was satisfied to see that there was someone who could love one another this much.

It is truly a mystery and an amazing question to ponder as to why Mikasa was able to change Ymir. Was it through love or something else? Well, it is always up to open to discussion.
Eren and Armin’s Conversation
As the fight had come to an end, Armin had gotten his memories back that Eren had erased and it was revealed that Eren had already talked about this outcome before the battle. In their conversation, Eren spoke about how Mikasa was the key to making Ymir change, and therefore the existence of the titan would cease to exist.
He mentioned that it wasn’t explained exactly why Mikasa was the sole reason for her change but it was important for them to be things this way. Meanwhile, Eren also spoke about how eighty percent of the population would come to an end after the rumbling would stop.
This would amount to the paradise island and the outside having an equal chance if they were ever to fight again. Eren had mentioned many times that he was disappointed that there was humanity left outside the wall and this is where everything had come to a change.
While there was a self of him that wanted to find peace, there was another part of him that wanted the outside world to come to an end. This plays an important role in what has become of Eren, a two-sided person much like Reiner.
But this was the only outcome where he saw his friends having a good long life despite where the rest of the world was headed because Eren only cared about the people who were close to him.
Attack On Titan Ending Credits
Three years later after the battle of heaven and earth, Armin and the other fighters would be represented as the ones to talk peace with the Pardis island who had grown in Military strength. This talk never took place in the manga or the anime but from the end credits we can assume that perhaps this may have come to see the rest of the world and Paradis island making a peace.
If you have seen the ending credits, we can see that this peace would not remain for much longer but long for Eren’s friends to live a good life. The credits showcased that at some point in the future, the war would break out between Paradis Island and the outside world.

This battle would take many changes but the result we saw is that Paradis island would get nuked by the nuclear weapons ending this nation for good. After this, we see that a child locates the tree where Eren was buried and it seems very familiar to the three which Ymir had found when she was a child and how it granted her the power of the Titans.
This is adapted from the extra pages of the manga by Hajime Isayama himself and through this message, he wanted to say that the conflict would never come to an end as long as there is a difference in opinions.
Hajime Isayama has inspiration from real life in his manga and therefore Attack On Titan feels very amazing and realistic at points even though it features fictional creatures. In our conclusion, Attack On Titan’s ending tells us that there will always be war as long as humans have differences in their opinions and about the things they do not understand.
