It’s probable that some of the couples on Married at First Sight season 8 made a mistake by getting married to strangers, as the bulk of them seem to be breaking up over time. Following the penultimate dinner party, the majority of couples are on the verge of divorcing.
In the dating reality series Married at First Sight on Channel 4, a group of single individuals are paired with each other by “relationship experts,” who match them with spouses after administering personality tests.
The couples meet for the first time just minutes before their wedding and then have to go through a series of tests to see if they are compatible. The eighth season of MAFS UK makes sure we see more of the couples’ behind-the-scenes interactions because it has the most episodes of any season.
Recap
By the time MAFS UK ends, we will have seen the couples preparing for and showing up for the dinner that comes after the penultimate commitment party. Finding out that Georges was forwarding recordings of himself to other individuals was the tipping point for Peggy to discontinue their relationship.
Luke and Jay were removed from the MAFS experiment, but Bianca and Nathaniel departed the show on their own. Despite being removed from the show, Luke and Jay are still together off-screen.
During the penultimate commitment ceremony, almost every other couple chose to continue the experiment and give their romance another chance. After an unplanned partner switch, issues in relationships that had been going well from the beginning were revealed.
Many of the men and wives reached their lowest moments and thought about calling it quits on their marriages at the penultimate dinner party, where they made sure to bring out differences in each other’s relationships.
The anonymous letters played a major role in enabling the remaining MAFS couples to fan the flames even further. Now that season 8 of Married at First Sight UK is almost finished, the homestays will be the next experiment.
In Episode 28, the couples took part in homestays, a custom that wraps up every season of MAFS. Married couples stay at each other’s homes, either alone or with their parents, during a homestay.
This gives the experimental couples a chance to assess whether their union is a fairytale created specifically for the study or if it has a chance of enduring in the real world. Couples discover several previously undiscovered hidden facets about one another when they live together.
Some of the relationships on MAFS season 8 will definitely develop stronger if they live together, but for other couples who can’t adjust to each other’s real lives, it ends up being the worst thing.
The penultimate dinner gathering is made more dramatic by the anonymous letters, which force the group to face some hard truths.
The newlyweds get a peek at life outside the experiment’s boundaries and a chance to seek guidance from their loved ones when the homestays get underway.
The most challenging task of the season thus far, Partner Swap Week, is in store for the surviving couples. One couple went through a difficult period, and another groom was unsure of the future of his marriage.
As the couples attempt to integrate into one another’s lives, the homestays go on. Some couples develop closer relationships with their partners, but for some couples, the demands of the outside world are too much.
After the last commitment ceremony for the surviving couples, a bride makes a confession that breaks her husband’s heart. All the other couples left on their last dates. While some of them take the time to think things through, one couple is about to go through a catastrophe.
Spoilers
It’s the last dinner party and the last opportunity for the surviving spouses to counsel one another prior to their vow renewals.
