She is a professional ballroom and Latin American dancer best known for her appearance on the television show ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’
Dowden was part of the series and was a finalist in the seventeenth series. Dowden is an aspiring dancer, and her story of cancer has made her unable to participate in the upcoming series. She holds a Guinness World Record for the most back-Charleston kick-steps in 30 seconds.

Amy announced that she had been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer after discovering a lump in her breast in April. Starting her chemotherapy, she has undergone many hardships and health issues.
Speaking to the presenter of the Stand Up to Cancer show, she revealed that it was the last day of her chemo, and she is extremely happy to have thrived through it. Even if there were so many hard times, she had tried to keep her fans and well-wishers updated with everything. On the third of November, while attending the show, she also said, “It was a good day,” as she had completed her chemo sessions.

“It’s been tough. I’ve had sepsis blood clots. I’ve had to have hormone treatment, then been put into menopause,” she said of the difficulties she’s overcome. She had undergone a mastectomy. Earlier, she revealed that she almost died after her chemo caused a terrifying collapse.
Following her surgery, she began chemotherapy after medics found the cancer had spread. Taking to her Instagram Story, the BBC star explained that she was informed by her specialists that her platelet count needed to increase in order to have the treatment, otherwise, she would have to wait another week. She was terrified of hearing these from her doctors and was hoping for an effortless chemo session.
After she had been diagnosed with cancer, she couldn’t take part in the Strictly Come Dancing. But Amy has received public support as everyone wanted to see her again on the show since publicly sharing her diagnosis, with producers confirming her position on the show will remain vacant until she returns. She once went to a program without the wig and has inspired many people.
She revealed that it was when preparing for her honeymoon with her husband, Ben Jones, that she got to know about the disease. She had an estrogen-fed cancer and needed to shut the ovaries down.
The news drastically affected her as she was preparing to start her married life with Ben Jones, who has also been her dance partner in Strictly Come Dancing show. But her husband had been her supporting system throughout the journey.

She insisted everyone do a simple breast checkup at their homes every month. She thanked the medical team at The Sheldon Unit, who have supported her through her journey. “The NHS has been incredible,” she said. “They go above for all their patients.” She has set an example for many cancer fighters and survivors.
