It has been seven months since the First and Second Ladies of the Oval tussled in the middle of the White House, sending them both tumbling down a balcony. Victoria and Simone were found to have survived the fall in Tuesday’s much-awaited Season 5 premiere.
These two champions stood back up and resumed their sparring, while other women would have suffered severe injuries. Victoria even went to the extent of pressuring the Secret Service to hold Simone back to smuggle in a couple more hits. But Victoria’s shout, “Lock her up!” had to be the cherry on top.
Anyway, after giving the Second Lady a hard time, Victoria sauntered over to the Oval Office, where she discovered her comatose, coked-out husband on the floor. Things quickly spiraled out of control when the White House doctors discovered it was a fentanyl overdose, and before Victoria could say anything encouraging about her latest victory, Hunter was executed. And the boasting is half the fun.
Recap
When Victoria called Eli, she had another opportunity to boast. “Your wife came here, and we fought like two hood bitches over a piece of chicken,” she told him, a sickly smile on her lips. Eli developed some important contacts after feigning care for Simone for a mere fifteen seconds. Does this indicate that because Hunter is temporarily out of action, he is now president?
Allan and Dale exchanged smoldering glares in the police station as they talked about how they were both involved in the suspected drug conspiracy that was operating out of Kareem’s pharmacy. While Allan was still under arrest, his future boyfriend (you do remember that we named it!) agreed to help him hide a mysterious box at his apartment.
Other events this week include the revelation that Donald is still alive and thanks the “hot piece of ass” in his bed for taking the bullets meant for him; Jason, now known as “Mike,” being kidnapped by a cult member to meet with the Highest; and Nancy, who is admitted to the hospital after complaining that Richard choked her and forgot to take pills or try suicide.
But the most remarkable event of the evening occurred right at the hour’s conclusion. Priscilla tried to exit the very unpleasant meeting in Bobby’s hotel room courteously, but Sam barged in and rammed his revolver into Bobby’s chest.
Simone discovers Victoria’s evil scheme, Nancy levels an unexpected charge at Richard, and Donald notices the shifts in the White House following Eli’s inauguration. After being sworn in, Eli increases the abuse of his authority, Simone gets disturbing news, Allan finds himself in a dangerous circumstance, Jason develops a bond with River, and Priscilla exacts harsh retribution on Sam.
After the president overdoses, the White House descends into chaos, Jason finds himself in a perilous situation, and Sam struggles with his jealousy of Priscilla and Bobby.
Spoilers
The title for the episode is “Coming Clean.” Nancy tells Sam something about her past with Richard that he isn’t ready to hear, and Priscilla goes to great lengths to let him know that she is done with him.
