However, since Hojae still did not want to leave the island, he decided to kill the alchemist once he was sure about leaving the island. He decided to check out what the alchemist was up to to make his future decisions.
Because he needed to figure out the alchemist’s objectivity and identity, there were too many people around that place, so Hojae thought it would be better if he made the alchemist come in his direction.
Hojae used his coercion and soul exploitation, and it got to the alchemist. He then used cries of the soul to make the alchemist come in his direction, which was his ultimate, perfect plan. But things turned a bit extreme when the alchemist used rune language on the people around him.
All the people suddenly turned hostile towards Hojae, and he felt a sudden bloodlust around them. He suspected that the alchemist was behind all that, and Hojae was wondering if the sudden change was because of paranormal emotion-sharing effects.
Because all sorts of evil emotions like rage, contempt, and loathing were intruding on his head. So Hojae decided to get out of there as soon as possible, but even though he was already far away from that location, the paramal effect still had not disappeared from his system.
Instead, the effect was getting even more potent; he refused to believe that those people who were over a hundred years old were unleashing that amount of power.

He failed to make the right judgment, and because of him, all those people were suffering. So Hojae had to kill all those people to find the alchemist, who had disappeared without a trace.
