Bravo’s successful and endless run of spinoffs of wealthy women from all parts of the world keeps on giving. In the case of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4, it’s no different. Never mind about the fact that Utah is a tad more conservative than other cities like Los Angeles, New York, or Atlanta. In this one, we still have all the elements that make Housewives franchise a hit.
The latest episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City had a bit of everything we’re accustomed to seeing in these sorts of rich women doing rich women’s stuff: From international travel on private jets, fights, lots of drinking, some cold family dynamics that make you wonder about the status of your own family disputes, and as we’ll see, even more of the drama that keeps us hooked to this show.
Recap
This episode is titled “An Olive Branch With Thorns”. Usually, an olive branch is something you give someone to represent peace, accord, and easiness. But the thorns part means trouble, which is exactly what we see here.
There’s so much to unpack, so where do we start? Ah yes! The invitations. Angie will have an Easter Brunch party at her place, and she’s sending out invites, but of course, she’s not inviting Meredith because Angie thinks Meredith is gossiping about Angie’s hubby.
Heather Has An American Horror Story Easter Bunny Episode
The invitation is a cute, and rather large Easter Bunny who gives out the envelope. I found it rather hilarious when a woman like Heather Gay, always in her own fantasy world, gets in her car without realizing there’s a dude with an Easter bunny costume giving her an envelope. The shriek the poor woman lets out is real AF. And you’d be scared, too, if you get into your car and get surprised by a dude wearing an Easter Bunny costume, that looks like something out of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story.
Hidden Marriage Story
After those Easter Bunny roundups, we move to Mary Cosby and Robert Jr. confronting the 20-year-old about him being married. She doesn’t know. And if it’s true, he’s been tight-lipped about it. He eventually acknowledges that he’s tied the knot because her then-girlfriend got pregnant. Mary can’t hide her indignation.
Christ Is Risen
Easter is a Christian celebration of the rise of Jesus Christ. It’s supposed to be all cool and peaceful. But when Heather goes to the brunch with a bowl of lemons for the hostess under the guise of that Feng Shui stuff of that whole prosperity thing and clearing out the bad vibes, things, like lemons tend to go sour.
Angie welcomes each guest very warmly, but when Linda, Monica’s mom, starts hinting about Angie’s dad —a widower— Angie goes ballistic on Monica’s mom passes at her dad during a confessional. Fun to watch.
Angie welcomes her guests with a speech about the story of Christ and blasphemously manages to tie it to the troubles these women have between each other and their partners.
Ready? Fight!
Angie confronts Monica in front of everybody, and Angie’s not smart, bad timing, and bad choice of words. Monica riposted fiercely, Then there’s the back and forth of these two going over some beef and ego. Isn’t this what the Real Housewives franchise is all about anyway? As the fight escalates, Angie balks, and we move on.
