Daughter of the Scream Queen herself, Ruby Guest is the adopted child of Jaime Lee Curtis and her husband, Christopher Guest. Over the years, Jaime Lee has been extremely supportive of the LGBTQ community, and when her son finally came out with her true identity, Jaime Lee accepted it with open arms.
Known as a gaming editor and an entrepreneur, Ruby Guest first came into the limelight after attending a red-carpet event with her mom, Jaime Lee. Jaime revealed a long time ago that she wouldn’t be able to have children due to fertility issues and was choosing to adopt instead.
While her first daughter, Annie Guest, was an adoption she had expected, Ruby Guest had more of a destined one, as Jaime Lee was present when her mom gave birth to her.
The horror movie legend shared pictures of her daughter’s wedding, an entertaining cosplay wedding, and Jaime Lee was the officiator of the marriage. Though the change from Thomas to Ruby was hard for Jaime at first, she soon adjusted to her daughter’s new life without any issues.
Ruby Guest: Before And After
Jaime Lee Curtis was the one who raised Ruby Guest ever since she was born. After adopting the baby, Jaime Lee Curtis named her child Thomas Guest. Ruby can be spotted in many early red-carpet events and movie openings along with her mom, Jaime Lee.
This is where the media was made aware of the fact that Jaime had adopted another child. Before her transition, Ruby was named Thomas Guest and would appear as the family son in all group pictures.
Ruby has revealed that although Jaime and Christopher had always been supportive parents, coming out with a different identity was something she was afraid to do. Guest had to prepare herself many times, only to reveal the transition news through text to her mom.
Jaime Lee Curtis accepted her daughter with open arms, and once the transition happened, she was able to connect the dots and figure out that Ruby had been this way ever since she was just a teenager.
Ruby was 16 when she was first asked by one of her friends what her true gender was. Although she believed herself to be male back then, she always had doubts about what she wanted to represent herself as.
It was after 7 more years in her 20s that Ruby revealed to her fiancé, Kynthia, that she was having doubts about her true self and was considering transition. Kynthia accepted the change gladly as well.
Before she transitioned, Ruby came out as bisexual and revealed that she would always play with female characters when joining a video game. When asked about the change, Jaime said that the only hard part about it was the pronouns, as both she and Christopher would slip up sometimes.
The reaction towards Ruby Guest’s transition has been mixed, with some people questioning the way Ruby was raised while others were glad to see Ruby finally come out with her true identity instead of shutting herself out.
Ruby Guest: Life After The Transition
With both Kynthia, her fiancé, and her parents supporting her transition, Ruby has been able to finally live life as her true self. She isn’t as active on social media and barely has an internet presence.
After the transition, Kynthia and Ruby Guest ended up getting married at the Guest home with Jaime Lee as the officiator. What made the wedding so special was that it wasn’t any other normal wedding. It was a cosplay wedding, where Kynthia dressed up as Elphelt Valentine (Guilty Gear) and Ruby showed up as Squigly (Skullgirls).
Most of the guests showed up as well-known characters from other video games and animated films. Since then, Kynthia and Ruby Guest have remained a happily married couple, as can be seen in some of Jaime Lee’s Instagram posts.
Jaime and Christopher continue to support their kids in what makes them happy, and Jaime is also vocal about her support for kids worldwide. For now, Ruby is busy working as a game editor and enjoying life with her wife, Kynthia.
