Things are about to get intense in the Biddle house as Mr. Bratt has let Margot and the others know about his true identity. Based on R.L. Stines’s iconic 90s books, Goosebumps 2023 is a horror-plus comedy series that uses monsters and objects from the collection.
This Rob Letterman and Nicholas Stoller version centers on a group of high schoolers who find out about the tragic death of Harold Biddle after experiencing unexplainable hauntings.
As they uncover secrets about the mysterious Biddle death, the five high schoolers realize that they might be connected to the tragic passing more than they had first assumed.
Goosebumps’ cast includes Zack Morris playing Isaiah, Rachael Harris playing Nora, Justin Long as Mr. Bratt, and Ana Yi Puig playing Isabella.
Goosebumps Episode 6: Recap
In episode 6 of Goosebumps, Mr. Bratt talks about the suitcase and Harold’s past. The story of the suitcase began back in 1925 when Harold’s ancestor, Ephraim, came across Slappy right when his career was about to end.
The living dummy was entertaining enough to keep the audience coming, blessing Ephraim with a successful and profiting career. However, Slappy started to manipulate Ephraim into doing wrong things, going as far as making him abandon his wife and kid.
Ephraim eventually comes back to his senses and locks Slappy in a suitcase, then hides him in a wall of his new home. Fast forward to when Harold moves in, he is lured in by Slappy, who starts to influence Biddle’s life similarly.
Since Harold was an introvert, he had a hard time being confident in front of his friends. Slappy gave him the confidence he needed, but all of this was coming at a cost. Soon, Slappy made Harold hate his friends and family, with him even turning his mom and dad into puppets.
In another one of his plays, Slappy makes disgusting comments and reveals the personal secrets of Harold’s friends. While it was funny at first, it soon became embarrassing for Sarah and the others.
Nora notices that Harold’s changed behavior is due to Slappy and all of the friends band together to take Slappy away from him. Things don’t go as planned, and Harold ends up dying in a housefire.
As for Slappy, Ben breaks him apart and locks him in the suitcase. The kids now know that their parents weren’t exactly murderers. Biddle is upset over this reaction and reveals his true self to the kids.
