Hosted by Damon Wayans Jr. and Jeannie Mae, CBS is preparing a regional variant of a very popular Israeli show that’s spawned franchises all over the world, like in Vietnam, China, Italy, Argentina, and several other countries.
The name of the show is “Raid The Cage,” and in case you haven’t heard of it, we prepared a few details about this upcoming game show that we know you might like.
It’s pilot season in all major networks, and they are testing out shows to see if they “take off.” and Raid The Cage is one of them, along with many others. Networks do these kinds of things during early autumn to see what they can bet on as their scripted prime-time hits slowly make their way back to the small screens.
Now, ahead of the premiere of this competition show, we made for you a brief scoop so you’ll be well on your way to check it out and follow Raid the Cage if that show piques your interest. Now, without any further ado, let’s begin.
Raid The Cage Preview
Since Raid The Cage is a take on that famous Israeli game show, the American variant might take some licenses in adapting it to the regional public. Still, we believe that the general gameplay rules stay the same.
Players are put in front of a cage with a bunch of prizes with different values. With ten rounds, on each of those rounds, one player must answer a round of trivia while the other must get in the cage to collect the prizes.
At the start of each round, the answerer must respond to a trivia question with four possible options, one of which is the right one. If chosen correctly, the cage door opens, and the other contestant must get in to pick up the prizes.
This contestant may answer the question immediately, or use one of the lifelines. There are lifelines like changing the question or switching roles.
If they answer correctly, the door opens for about ten seconds in the first round and a minute and a half in the final round. Depending on the prize, they might have to put in some effort, say, push a car, a moped, or a quad bike. After collecting the prizes, the contestants might want to retire or keep going.
